They did a Great Job! Especially for Open Cell. A lot of times the Open Cell looks like popcorn hanging on the wall

The noise difference is awesome. I could hear the echo of your voice at the beginning of video vs the end where the foam soaks up the noise.

Looks so good! Amazing how much the open cell expands vs the closed cell we had done on the Mega Shed. We're doing the new house build with open cell in a few weeks so I'll get to see that. Tractor Hard! 🚜💪!

Thanks! It was strangely satisfying to see in person too. The open cell has less R value per inch but it’s cheaper to put in. They definitely made up for it by spraying thick. I can’t wait for a cold day to test out the wood burning stove. 🚜💪

That is one tight building now, probably won’t burn a fourth of the wood you burned in there last year. Plus it looks a lot brighter!

For sure. I lit a fire the other day and had to choke it down all the way and it was still 80 degrees in the barn!

thanks. why block the vents? wont that create issues for your roof?
@TripleTAcres28 күн бұрын
There’s no issue with covering the vents in this case. Vented soffits and ridge vents are only necessary when there is a separation between the attic space and the living or working space below, such as when a ceiling is installed. This separation creates a temperature difference between the two areas, which can lead to issues like moisture buildup or overheating if proper ventilation isn’t provided. In my barn, the attic space shares the same air and temperature as the rest of the building since there is no ceiling to create a separate area. Spray foaming directly under the roof eliminates the need for ventilation because the entire structure maintains a consistent temperature. In fact, venting the roof in this setup would work against the insulation’s purpose by allowing air exchange that could reduce energy efficiency. By creating a sealed and insulated envelope, spray foam helps regulate temperature, prevent drafts, and minimize potential moisture problems, making ventilation unnecessary in this particular configuration.

I thought you werent supposed to spray open cell direct to metal???
@TripleTAcres25 күн бұрын
I have a vapor barrier on my walls and my ceiling has drip stop on it. I don’t think it’s a problem spraying directly on metal but it’s not ideal.

It's amazing how they come out with this prices? Hopefully you don't come across customers like that on your own business.
