Just bought a Cart that had been in a wreck. The owner told me he had it insured and thats how he got a new cart. This cart I bought from him is now on it's way to becoming the Old Dogs New Tricks Hot Dog cart. btw; This cart also has an NSF rating, just have to replace the broken plexiglas panels. Also was a thermo cooler that seems to be working!

Hey Ben, my guestion is do buy a cover for your cart and put in on after you clean it, so you you drive to your location your good to vend. The next guestion ideas on where you should store you cart, garage or covered on the driveway? Thanks Ken

Covers don't work. They tear up quickly. I just wipe it down when I arrive. I stored my carts covered with a tarp. Then I eventually got a building for them.

Hot Dog Cart Store yes it’s in writing..this is a requirement for a small city in British Columbia Canada...even major cites like Vancouver ask for 2 million. Liability insurance is expensive here. I think it’s a way to discourage street food vendors and protect the restaurants.

Hi does it cover theft for Hot dog stand? @as right now I'm paying $600.for 2 million of libablity insurance Which includes$4000 for theft of food cart And they know I only pay 1500 for hot dog cart..i have no problem getting any thing charge If I'm doing event that need to be on the insurance But it does cost extra Local insurance company I like this video

Who told you this Ian? Most states don't require this unless you go over x number of employees. Do you have employees or family members helping or what? I don't understand Ben's answer a week ago. Makes no sense to me. You should be paying extra helpers as independent contractors (1099), not as regular employees; there's a huge difference. Be careful from where you get this advice from. Federal is easy, but states, can be a pain as each is different.

@@dryan8377 I was told that I had to do something Workers Comp/Disability" related" paper work in my case. I was told this by an advisor. This was in regards to just me working my own hot dog cart.

@@dryan8377 - like you said - states are different and depending on what you require of a person can determine if they are 1099 or not. If I have them clean up in my commissary, they can not be a sub now. It's like I always say... ask an accountant or call your state employment line.
