Believe it or not the original 1911 models which date back further back then 1911 weren’t always chambered in the mighty 45. It was in 32. then 9mm (for a commercial) until the United States Army begged them to switch it to 45 witch is how the model of 1911 was born. And you can guess the Military adopted it pretty quickly right after the army (as they always do). During the time this was considered revolutionary concept with the self loading handgun but there was speculation if revolvers would be better. Simply because they were cheaper, had less parts to fail compared to the new concept of the expensive self loading pistol design. We see how that went down on the History books. . . Also you can hit things with the 1911 if you don’t speed soft the trigger

Well snipes having a gun for your troops, is explicitly better than literally having no guns. I would remind you that America's production far exceeded that of German capabilities in every single metric, and a lot differences in firearms came mainly in difference in doctrine. After all the Stg-44 was built in versatility in mind to have a weapon to fire a cartridge that essentially a shortened full powered rifled cartridge to achieve a weapon who can engage at distance like a rifle and assault a position like an smg. While American doctrine has always been about achieving ballistics capabilities, 5.56 shoots as flat and far as .308 in a platform that was never designed or intended for fully automatic fire. We build our rifles to shoot far and accurate, volume of fire is frankly as 2nd thought. After all our military and civilian cultures is marksmanship.

Ok talking more about history here but I really hate when people criticize the garand by saying "but the ping tells the enemy when you're reloading". 1. Who in their right mind would charge multiple guys with rifles? You think they're all gonna just reload at once or something . 2. Even if it was one guy with a garand was alone do you realize how loud gunshots are? No one gonna hear that over all that, especially if your ears start ringing. 3. I'm not sure about this one but couldn't the garand mount a bayonet? I'm not saying it can't happen but that would RARELY HAPPEN
@tamacat9202 жыл бұрын
M1’s would do nothing against MP40’s or STG44’s and especially MG42’s. The concept of the M1 was to have an advantage over other service rifles. In close quarters or immediate return fire roles, M1’s would lose to smg’s like the MP40, which is why the Thompson was still in service. The MG42 and it’s predecessor, MG34, against M1’s is not even a match. It’s why the BAR was in service, to suppress the enemy so the squad can maneuver around. The number of squad mates with M1’s needed to provide the same suppression ability as the BAR would be too much, as the amount of remaining squad mates who are free to maneuver would be too low.

Lots of no-guns opinions here: >talks about stronger construction w/ a clip of a StG44 They needed to be headspaced with lead solder that would regularly fail. Not very robust. The Gewehr 43 was also plagued with issues, breaking the locking flappers was common. >US was aiming to make economical weaponry All countries were trying to make economical weaponry including Germany, hence the use of stamped reciever guns. >US had inferior weaponry besides the M1 Rifle Source? Besides weight and ROF (which is arguably a downside), US armament was every bit as reliable as their German counterparts, sometimes even moreso based on post-war analysis. The M1919A4 was only outshined in rounds-between-stopages by WWI Maxims and it's variants.
@flintironstag99832 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU. All of this is correct. US small arms were nothing if not reliable and robust. The a G43 is a terrible rifle and the STG44 is an excellent concept, but not a terrible good design from a durability standpoint “the recoil spring literally sits in a hole drilled into wood). Throw in the marked superiority in artillery and signals (which is WAAAAYY more important than small arms) the mid to late war US Army was a far better and more efficient fighting force than the German Heer.

YOU forget that Canada and UK primarily ended up "storming" the beaches where the bombardment on the German defenses largely succeeded, meaning far less standing battlements and holes in their wire. whereas for Omaha Beach because of weather conditions and fog the strike landed several miles behind where it should have, resulting in the infamous battle being so bad because the enemy was at full strength. Not to mention the UK pretty much dropped the L on Europe to begin with.

Not to mention in Urban combat they mostly had bolt actions and racked up a higher deathcount JUST AT STARLINGRAD then the entire UK and American army combined. @@alexanderpippington9277 the Soviet Union also lost about 14,000,000 soldiers. about 13.7% of their pre-war population. the united states, by comparison, lost somewhere around 300,000 to 400,000, less than 0.4% of their pre-war population. we're also comparing apples & oranges - the soviets were fighting a desperate defensive campaign, the united states was not. the two armies had completely different battle doctrines. I don't think snipes is insinuating that any one weapon platform would make or break the allied invasion, but it does certainly impact tactics & individual survivability of soldiers. there's a reason they started mass producing so many PPSh-41s for Stalingrad, & why over 50% of Soviet forces were carrying either PPSh-41s & PPS-43s by 1945. For cosmetics, use whatever skin increases your visibility the most.🤣 My loadout: M16A2 - 3x A2 Scope - Bipod - Laser Sight L106A1 - Compensator - Laser Sight AN-M14 Incendiary Heavy Carrier Heavy Armor Gas Mask Combat Knife As for my cosmetics, I’m using tiger stripe camo (it’s what I wore in the Air Force). Works fine in a gravel pit, but thats about it. Playstyle: Marksman. As enemies deplete, push in and “camp” closer spots, take out caches when you find them using the incendiary grenade. Pick up grenades off dead enemies if you need more.

So fun fact about us military cartridge designations the .30 caliber round traces it's roots all the way back to 1890 when the US was replacing the .45-70 gov round for the trapdoor Springfield. The caliber selected was .30-40 to be used in the Krag Jorgensen (the worst bolt action rifle of its time imo). The .30 part of the name represents the caliber size while the 40 represents the weight of the powder in grains. So now if your wondering if the .30-06 has only 6 grains of gunpowder hate to break it but the army tossed that concept of naming in 1903 when they designated the new cartridge as .30-03 with the 3 being the last two of the year it was adopted. Powder weight remained the same though all the way up to the .30-06. So what's the difference well the old .30-40 was rimmed like most early modern cartridges which can cause feeding issues the new .30-03 and 06 were not.

If anyone is interested, here's a bit of history: - In France, during the First World War (end of 1917), the army had adopted and put into service a semi-automatic rifle in small numbers 86000 (especially for good shooters). - And in the Second World War, France practically put into service a semi-automatic rifle for the infantry: the MAS40 rifle. In 1940, 50 pre-production MAS 40s were produced. However, the defeat and occupation of France prevented large-scale production.

@@alexvangen745 Yes, but just after the Second World War in 1945 for the marine commandos with the start of the Indochina war. Interesting fact: as the MAS40 was about to go into mass production, the engineers hid it from the Germans that there was a semi-automatic rifle ready for production because it looked a lot like the bolt-action MAS 36. But just after the liberation of the factory in the city of St Etienne in 44, the production of the MAS40 immediately began. But by correcting some small details and the big defect of the non-detachable 5-round magazine by a detachable 10-round magazine. Thus giving the MAS44. It was necessary to wait for the MAS 49 so the French army can adopts a semi-automatic rifle in large numbers (not yet entirely because France, just after the ww2, used everything it had on hand: its own weapons old and new, arms from the USA, England and Germany and even some from Japan). It was in 1956 with the adoption of the MAS 49/56 that France had a semi-auto for each soldier.

the standard combat load for the M1 was 88 rounds in 11 enbloc clips (1 loaded, 10 in belt/bandoleer pouches), this could be supplemented depending on conditions, the thing about the M1 that made it so significant isn't the rifle's performance and features alone, its the fact it was the only standard issue, semi automatic main service rifle (early war it was supplemented with the M1903 Springfield but gradually replaced it as the standard, frontline rifle as more and more were produced where the M1903 took a smaller and smaller role or was issued to rearline/specialist (Snipers, Rifle grenadiers (the magazine cutoff made it easier to use with the specialized blanks needed to launch the grenades but both it and the M1 were used), etc.). Even George S. Patton, a general well known for his use of armor, said it was the greatest battle implement of the war (someone who publicly was known for their skilled deployment of armor in the field was humble enough to understand that even the best tanks are exposed without the combined arms networking of infantry, armor and indirect fire support). Also on the topic of the teething issues check out the forgotten weapons video on the 7 round stoppage on how such a small little detail could cause parentally fatal malfunctions) (also for the F1 kills it helps to cook them, if you have it out and right click you drop the spoon and the fuse starts)

The 30-06 in the 1940’s performed the same as 308 does. Modern 30-06 loadings are a lot hotter, but you’re supposed to use lower pressure rounds in an M1 if you actually want to take care of your vintage rifle

While it could be argued that this loadout is inferior to any loadout that decides to utilize any form of attachments whatsoever, I'm going to chose to ignore that fact and post it here anyway. The Rhodesian Loadout: - A fully stock FAL with stock skin - A Browning HP - Two grenades - Light armor and light carrier - As for the outfit, unfortunately, the devs would rather us drown instead of drip, so just do your best, but until brushstroke camo and shorts are added, the drip will never be truly attainable. As I said before, this loadout is not good, and you will likely get stomped on by anyone who had enough sense to put some form of optic on their weapon, however, it is a loadout for the men among men, and therefore, is incredibly satisfying to stack bodies with.

How dare you disregard my Bubba loadout. Do it please. SKS with a drum mag and da 1911 (two world wars). Irons only bc "if you need a cheater to shoot a gun then you shouldn't have one"

sorry but where the fuck you did you hear US battle line troops only carried 3 clips... their whole doctrine states Overwhelming fire, that would be hard to do with only 3 clips. The Us battle load for a riflemen was 88 rounds (11 clips one in the rifle the other 10 on their belt as well as an additional 6 in disposable bandoliers should the soldier choose) Sure they could have just the belt on but still that's still 10 spare clips. Imma need to see your source my brother.

Yo can we get a loadouts video with the M14 EBR, and m45a1. You can call it the modernization of the ww2 Era. Just be sure to keep it realistic to real life with the attachments if you do this.

I often use the M1 Garand, and I like it because I can kill it with almost one shot, and it's easy to notice when I've used up all the bullets. Has the ability to easily reach the top of the rankings
@notyomama13062 жыл бұрын
the standard infantry man carried standard 100 rounds they would even be equipped with bandoliers with another 100 rounds or shove more clips into their pockets your way off saying they carried 3 clips

Sandstorms M1 Irons are basically ghost sights compared to what the actual peep sights were. But then again the originals were almost unusable to the point most guys just aimed w/ the front sight post.

The best way I can put it is that it’s a satisfaction more than it is functionality because yes, you could use an EBR but why would you?
