It is more of venom expressed towards IR! Will GA stop receiving royalty for songs composed by him? Then why did SPB spearhead the movement for royalty for singers in 2015 and then like a hypocrite balked at IR for sending him a mere notice in 2017? Did not SPB and GA know IR is "our" person and hence they should not have spoken ill of IR when IR behaved like a gentleman on this issue without breathing a word about it? No singer sings for charity. They USE composers' intellectual property to earn money for themselves. If this was the West, IR would have been one of the world's richest musicians. He only blames IR (even after IR called him up to patch up) because IR is the EASY target and a scapegoat as IR neither breathes a word about any of his naysayers nor indulges in backbiting.). WHY would IR who gave GA 300+ songs as lyricist, 100+ songs as singer, evergreen music for most of GA's movies suddenly cut ties with him suddenly? There must be a REASON, right?! It's sad that Gangai Amaran, who swindled away the money he made in films and expected Raaja to bail him out in the late 1990s(he had mentioned this in the early 2000s), dismisses Raja's financial rights to his intellectual property. The people paying are businessmen and media owners. SPB's temper and following events were unwarranted. Indian/Madras media tried to tarnish Ilaiyaraja again but it is post-2010 world and everyone knows how copyright works in other countries. So many people backed Ilaiyaraja. In any western world, Ilaiyaraja would today hundreds of millions worth (in dollars) if we took into account how much his work has been freeloaded by large organizations and businesses in 45 years. A.R.Rahman grew up reading American/UK music magazines. A.R. Rahman grew up in Madras among PSBB crowd, and made sure he had the upper hand from beginning. He made sure he owned his music and stage event holders paid him. But Raaja doing the same thing Rahman did annoys people. Another instance where Indian cinema tries to exploit a less-educated village man. Many other composers agreed with Raaja, but didn't have guts to state it.

100% correct. While Raja was busy making music, it was Gangai Amaran who took care of the financials. I wonder whatever happened to all the money? Assuming Raja worked on 800 films with an average of 1 lakh per film, eight crore should have been the outcome; with that money, Raja could have easily bought half of T. Nagar in 80's. I strongly feel Raja got sidelined with his music while his brothers swindled most of his money.
