Intall & Review | Banggood Rear Spoiler Extension for my MK7.5 Golf R, Part 2

In today's vlog I install and review a rear spoiler extension from Banggood.com. It's a copy of the Maxton Design spoiler that is much more expensive. How much was it, how long did it take to get to me and did I waste my money? Find out as I install it on my MK7.5 Golf R!

Awesome! Thanks for posting! I'm definitely happy that I spent the extra money Maxton Designs full wrap spoiler. I was fully curious about this as I was tempted to attempt to save some money. I was also curious on how your version would look comparing to the full sized one. This confirmed everything I had suspected. I believe the Maxton designs one wasn't even painted. Instead, the plastic was buffed to a piano black just like the trim on the car. It's actually a perfect match to the rest of the trim. Additionally, I just installed the gloss black headlight eyebrows in a piano black with Badgeskin's Amber delete! It looks amazing! Super aggressive. Cheers, MisterET!

How’s it holding up after 7 months? Curious about pulling the trigger myself…due to budgetary constraints.

I’m on my second 3m retape because the spoiler isn’t quite perfect so the tape peels from the twist in the spoiler. The maxton design will surely fit better but overall it’s not bad for the price.

Is there any flex to the spoiler? I have a Elantra GT N Line and I know the spoiler will fit bc it’s 42” before it bends on the factory spoiler...

Not so much it’s quite rigid so if the contour is not right it may not stick to the body for very long especially with the adhesive provided.

@@misteret5441 thanks, I got it today and this never happens but the fit is perfect...I’m going to get real 3m tape tomorrow and install it...after that I’m going to use protectdip glossy black and cover the spoiler, the silver trim peace on the grill and the Hyundai emblems...overall for the price I’m happy I purchased the Amazon spoiler and saved over $150 Canadian. Cheers.

So the maxton kit isn't painted its made shiny/matt/fake carbon. I have the full kit on my mk7 gti here in the UK. Before I got the rs3 spoiler I had the extension and on the bottom where you mount it is machined rough with like a belt sander by the looks for better adhesion. Just ordered the audi tt rs spoiler from this company for £107 so let's see how good it is 😵‍💫

There is no golf R 2020 in Canada but this fits any MK7 as they all have the same spoiler from the factory. If yours has the same spoiler it should fit.

Dude! How you gonna compare a knock off to a wish of having a premium aftermarket product. Reach out to Maxton, they will definitely sponsor a real review of the real deal on hand. Your overall evaluation says it all... You get what you pay for. Looks like you keep up the appearance of the car, but why put something on the car that takes away from your hard efforts and hope no one points out all thise imperfections that you settled for just because you couldn't save up another $100 and get something of pride rather than shame... Just saying tho
