Welp, it’s been a while. Will be doing condensed reviews like this from time to time. Gotta get used to flapping my mouth on camera again & trying my hardest not to swear as the higher ups at google / KZbin are softies about that nowadays.

These older vehicles from Ford, especially this, 2007 Freestar SEL minivan with the 4.2 L V6 engine, which produces only 201 horsepower and the four-speed automatic transmission are currently running and driving strong in traffic, compared to most other older vehicles, as well as some newer vehicles. Most newer vehicles, have numerous amount of problems with technology, as well as mechanical and electrical issues. This is the reason, they you plan to buy a used vehicle and fully pay it off, not waste your money on a brand new vehicle that you cannot afford to purchase entirely. Thank you very much and have a great week.

If I ever have a “fleet” a minivan will be a part of it. I rented one from a peer to peer outfit, keep in mind. This was an Odyssey, a few years, back to move a mattress, and I was impressed at the cargo space it had.

Forgettable as it is, I am glad you made your return to reviews with this van! It was able to bring out your personality that I’ve enjoyed since I was in high school lol. Excited to see what’s next!

I had a 2005 SEL, and it was a terrific van, and I wish I still had it. Had a lot of fun with it.

I wish Ford and Chevy did not give up on making the minivan because they had the column shifter.

Always liked these, much better than the trash competition like you said. But these kind of videos are what I’m here to see, please start uploading more stuff like these again more often!

Trash competition??? Definitely have to disagree with you there. It’s not like the Freestar was bad, but the Odyssey, Sienna, Quest, and even the Sedona absolutely trashed this thing at the time. The only minivan really that was worse than the Freestar was the Chevrolet Uplander along with its other GM variants. The Chrysler minivans were basically on par with the Ford except they had better features like Stow n’ Go and a navigation system.

@@M67vYes, the American competition was pure trash.

Would love to see you tear into the GM Lambda platform if possible. I have very mixed feelings about my partner's Traverse.

The Car Wizard is definitely not a fan of anything on that platform or really anything with the 3.6 v6 from the early to late 2010s.

@@NEONPARADlSE While I enjoy the way it drives, it is an absolute pain to work on and breaks frequently. So I'd have to agree with him.

I was surprised to hear you say it was a comfortable ride. In my very limited experience, Ford tends to have firm rides, which I don't like. I too, wish cars were more comfortable. When I was younger I fell for that "sporty" crap too. The automotive media made me "want" a sporty car with a tight suspension so I could "take corners" well. Nowadays, I just want something comfortable. I've never been able to buy an automobile discretionarily, but when that time comes, seat comfort and ride will be my priority. Followed closely by simplicity.

How are the transmissions on these?
@Intechdude300

Fluid needs changing every 30k which the majority of people don’t / didn’t do. Early years had torque converter issues. But when you think about it, the Odyssey of that time was plagued with issues. Chrysler for 35+ years seems to think they’re obligated to build their vans with trannys that grenade well before 100,000 miles.

What do you mean you can skip a few oil changes? No. You cant with any car. The 4.2 ford engine is a truck engine that's why it has the big torque numbers, I do not know WTF you mean by the Pentastar engine self machining itself. That is another good engine. I put 330K on a promaster van with no issues.

Yeah, this guy made some odd remarks. Didn´t really appreciate his snarky tone of voice either. As an older guy, this video was hard to watch.

Still have a limited same color we use it as a spare vehicle now and it has 349 thousand miles. Had zero issues with it and this year does not have that rear axle that the windstar had problems with. Also all those power door and lift gate still work unlike my Aunts 2014 seinna . All her doors stop working few years ago. I work on Seinna power doors all the time because that cheap cable breaks and the motors go bad
