Tu as l'air de bien connaitre "l'univers" Roland.

The violin and cello sound so convincing, if I heard those on a recording I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. In fact many of the Supernatural instruments are really good samples but I also like Roland's PCM sounds as I currently have 8 sound modules including a Roland JV-1080, Roland U-220 and Roland SC-88 Pro and even those still sound usable in modern productions. I'm thinking about also buying an Integra 7 and an SC-8850 as an alternative to the Roland Cloud VST instruments.

The patches were re-designed for SRX boards, and they are not the same patches as on the original SR-JV80 boards. Back in the days Roland sold the SRX cards with the old SR-JV80 patch data on CD ROM, XV-line users could upload SR-JV80 patches to their machine that would use the SRX boards' sample data. So, if I have an inexpensive Yamaha PSR e463, will my keyboard sound just as good with this Roland hooked up?
@arnaudchabo Жыл бұрын
Indeed. The integra sound always the same. No matter what midi keyboard you use. But, you have to think that the dynamic range of the midi keyboard could change the "clarity" of the sound. If it's a piano keybed, it will be more difficult to get the strongest part of the sound.. the part that is often louder a d clearer. And id you use an inexpensive e463, the sound could be much more clearer, and it could be more difficult to play the "light" part of the sound.. the first layer.. that is often softer and darker. So indeed, with a PSR, the integra will play the same quality of sound. But maybe you won't "ask" it the same "layer".. So it could be dissapointing.

I think it's because of their experience with old hardware. The XV-5080 may be the established "normal" their brains compare everything against. I have a 5050 with two SRX boards and I can't hear a damn difference between most patches. All these machines sound fantastic and you can tweak them all. The Integra has many USR slots and a nice iPad patch editor. I love my Integra 7.

@arnaudchabo Жыл бұрын

@arnaudchabo Жыл бұрын

What’s interesting is convincing piano, string and VA synth sounds have been done for nearly 40 years. If a unit can’t do those well, its not worth it. Where many virtual instrument sounds fall flat IMO is in the electric piano sounds and brass sounds. I don’t know why, but it seems like roland really skimped on the e pianos and brass. Most of the sounds on this unit are fantastic, but i could not get behind the fake sounding horns and the glassy rhodes sound. Surprising that they want so much for this. That being said, your playing was great!

The main difference is the "Integra" has "Supernatural Sounds", Roland Cloud does not have that.

You have some access to "rompler" type sounds on there , but integra has a really massive library of them (all the hits from jv and xv series plus all SRX expansion cards) along with the supernatural sounds (which is just a more advanced rompler).

@arnaudchabo3 жыл бұрын

Merci
@arnaudchabo2 жыл бұрын
@EricCorminier2 жыл бұрын
