At last! Ive struggled to get my plugs working locally only, but I followed your instructions and managed to convert my 4 meross mss305 plugs to Meross Lan instead of internet. Many thanks for an informative video

Thanks so much, I had loved the robustness and utility of these meross devices. When I started my Home Assistant journey I was dismayed at the complicated steps to integrate them into home assistant. Than I came across your vlog and very quickly linked them in. I realize this was a few months ago, but I'm interested in knowing if once this is set up, and using local mqtt (HAAS), if we can disconnect the cloud and have it work locally. Did you put together a video for lan only (no cloud requirements)? is it as simple as install the HACS, connecting the device, then disconnecting the cloud app? Thx, Howie.

Any preference for the standard Meross smart plugs or the Meross Homekit ones? Some reviews said IOS updates stop the Homekit ones from working. Would also have to install Homekit Device integration for the Homekit ones.

Meross LAN should work regardless of them being Homekit or standalone. I've not tried the smart plugs through Meross LAN yet though.

Thank you for this video!! i put in my meross account but it doesn't generate the key.. writing an error instead: ConfigEntry.__init__() missing 1 required keyword-only argument: 'discovery_keys' have any idea what can ido? thanks again!

good video but good problem... did all like you show in your video... BUT gut Error,,, Device key error The proven key is wrong. Choose more options. But all of these options tries without success ... And now

Hard to say what's causing this error. It may be that the device you're attempting to connect to isn't fully compatible with the meross LAN component, or it could be something in the config. As I didn't create the custom component, I'm not really sure I can be much help here. You might have more luck searching the repository page in HACS.
