at 04:04 "Modern processors such as the AMD Ryzen 6000 or Intel 12th gen cards..." that clearly shows you how precise informations in this video are. This is just some ChatGPT AI script low effort no research video that makes no sense at all. Ryzen 6000 are not even desktop processors but low power mobile chips for laptops, held gaming machines etc...

0:55 Don‘t confuse people. 7 and 5 nm are just the names, you can‘t compare the nm of Intel‘s architecture with AMD‘s in terms of numbers. For example: You would think that AMD 7nm is half as small as Intel 14nm. It is smaller, but not half as small.

The upcoming Arrow Lake processor will utilize the Intel 20A process node with a 2nm process, incorporating EUV lithography to enhance yield and capacity. The design will use a tile-based approach and feature both performance (P) and efficiency (E) cores, in addition to an onboard GPU. Dedicated accelerators for AI, video transcoding, and cryptographic functions will also be included. The P cores are expected to consist of eight cores and are based on the Lion Cove architecture, while the efficiency cores (E cores) may initially have up to 16. However, a mid-generation refresh expected in 2025 could potentially provide some Arrow Lake chips with as many as 32 E cores. The E cores will leverage the Skymont architecture and will require DDR5 memory. There are also rumors suggesting support for Thunderbolt 5 on a new socket (LGA 1851), with more pins than LGA 1700 in the 12th, 13th, and 14th generations. This means a new motherboard for Arrow Lake, although it will have the same physical size as the LGA 1700 socket, allowing for compatibility with existing coolers. Additionally, there is speculation that Intel may remove Hyperthreading entirely from all Arrow Lake models. This is regarded as the most significant change to any generation in the past two decades.

I’m kind of new to this. A week ago I built my first gaming PC in over 10 years! All of my computers are Macs, except for this one. I don’t really pay that much attention to CPU tech - I know my personal MacBook Pro has a 3nm M3 CPU and my work MacBook has a 5nm CPU with its M1 processor. But in my gaming computer I bought an Intel i5 12600kf cpu. I thought IT was a 7nm CPU processor. Am I wrong? Is it actually something else? It seems fast enough for me, but I feel a little let down if it’s like 9nm. I guess if it’s fast enough for me that’s all that matters. But still, I figured with it being only a couple of years old it would be at least closer to my 2021 MacBook in terms of chip manufacturing. Maybe I should upgrade when this new one comes out. I’m very inexperienced with computer building lol.

Nah, the time AMD went to 5nm Intel could still compete well with 7nm since their nodes are more efficient. ;D But they are gonna get nodes from TSMC like AMD this gen!

I am all for increasing the P core count.. they already have the E core count to 16, lets do the same with the P Cores.. if perhaps the first roll out 12 P cores and 16 E cores, and second roll out 16 and 16.. P and E cores.. would be nice to know that if I play a game and surf the web at the same time, that my game will be using Power cores dedicated to the game and use the Efficiency cores dedicated to running the web browsing and menial tasks in the back ground.. I do not know that Intel needs to get higher clock speeds at this time, but it would be great if they could lower the power consumption of the chip.. using less power.. two 8 core chiplets of P cores, two 8 core chipless of E cores. with lots of on chip memory.. and fast interconnect and more PCIE lanes.. lets get them back up to 40 again like we use to have with Ivy Bridge..

Intel should start making their CPU's as a SOC all on chip. Like the M3 soc, yes that's ARM based, ARM is the future anyways, x86 has reached its peak. Intel needs to find out how to make a SOC Intel chip, that is x86 ARM modified, or retire x86 completely. The sooner Microsoft and Intel and AMD get away from x86, the sooner we get awesome soc gaming chips.

No. Because they are creating their CPUs with 2nm process nodes, which is much smaller than 7nm nodes the the 14th gen sockets use means that the architecture, and thus the socket, will be changed for the 15th gen release.

The intel "lagging" behind AMD is total garbage fed by talking heads that know belittling intel CPUs gets clicks, but in reality, even without trying, their CPU clock speeds have always been higher, which is always better for gaming. Sure AMD acn multitask, so if you are a streamer then great. For us gamers, ALWAYS intel every time. Its just better, Gsync is better than vsync and it integrates with RAM easier. Arrowhead will just strike a dagger through anything AMD has at almost 7 GHz...its never been BEHIND AMD in gaming...just letting AMD catch up a little, now that AMD has awoken the sleeping giant...its GAME OVER.
@curio78
@curio78 18 күн бұрын
Nonsense. Intel higher clock is a cheat code. It can barely sustain these "higher clocks" for barely limited seconds if the cpu is cool. Any sustained load the freq drops 30% behind amds sustained freq. So their higher freq is just useless number.

Just have a look over the market share especially the laptops one. AMD doesn't exist there and laptops are mainly used in productivity. Companies are using mostly Intel platform for their systems, servers, desktop and laptops. And even if AMD is better at power consumption under heavy load, Intel CPUs are idling at lower power usage. And in productivity this matters more because the CPUs are not pushed to their limits all the time.
