When we first heard Intel was launching GPUs we were hoping they would make them as good as their CPUs. The moral of that story is: be careful what you wish for.

I didnt. I knew they would fail. I said it was going to be Larrabee 2.0 and Ive made that clear on my posts

Buddy intel cpus are fine lol, techtubers are turds that farm rage clicks. Who tf cares if i get 300 fps vs 330 fps if my ultra 5 is DESTROYING a ryzen 7 in other stuff. The only cpu that doesn't mke sense from arrowlake is the 285k

@@najeebshah. nope. Go look at the GN graphs. 9950x, faster in gaming on average (specific titles favor specific CPUs). Faster in production on average. Same price for the CPU. AM5 is a cheaper platform. That WILL have upgrades. If Intel could commit to a platform for 5+ years I’d be more inclined. That’s ignoring the 13th and 14th gen issues. I build both sets of systems for people depending on what they do… if I need quick sync… it’s an Intel processor. If it’s adobe: Intel. But considering my original AM4 board (B350) from 2017 is running a 5700x3d and still competitive in 2024 is unparalleled by Intel. You might not care: but many many people do. Cost for cost Intel is behind and AMD has specialty chips (X3D) that are socket compatible. Huge. Intel really has fallen behind and sales show it. They have a more competitive product than some KZbinrs predict, but being 5% worse on average means no one is going to buy your stuff. Amd has had their bad times: Bulldozer. For a workstation user who needs the fastest workstation use and gaming is nice to have? Threadripper (which is way way to expensive for consumers IMHO, but equipment is cheap in business). AMD isn’t gangbustering market share because they aren’t executing sales with OEMs well. That needs to change.

I personally don't think it will be better than the 8000 series but maybe it'll have better price to performance than Nvidia but like you mentioned in the video already, the software won't be nearly as well developed unfortunately

Intel needs to become AMD of 2017-2019. Take hits to margins and be aggressive with it. Stop looking for short term gains they need to claw some share from Nvidia. AMD GPU needs to also. Intel and AMD need to secretly compete with Nvidia only in their marketing and pricing for one or 2 generations before becoming neutral. Then when prices finally stabilize to proper levels would it make sense when team green finally loses some market shares in the next 5 years. Play the long game.

@MooresLawIsDead yea you are right, its just unbelievable, how messed up intel has been in recent years, many consumers were looking forward to their gpus, and they have seemed to drop the ball at every turn.

I grabbed a 580 to do some basic gaming for a couple months until I got the cash for 4080. My games glitched and crashed so I just took it back and got the 4070 TiSuper lol Intels GPU are completely pointless.

Problem that Intel has is that nobody is going to buy it. Honestly, if Arc had worked out well in the last years, then maybe they would have had a better chance. But truthfully, their cards are too expensive and literally do not provide the performance of AMD for the same price. Intel keeps playing this premium market segment brand when they have really poor performance. This is what happens when you get rid of the real engineers and you go with DEI hires and H1B visa workers for cheap in order to save money and appease political movements. Now they have a company with no compelling products and prices that are just too high to be able to compete in the market.
@Javier64691
@Javier64691 Күн бұрын
Intel doesn’t really know how to be second place, at this point almost third, they are hellbent on staying premium, even if they go bankrupt because of low sales.
@LilianaStar
@LilianaStar Күн бұрын
@@Jimster481 their problem is that they can't see it as an opportunity for the future they don't want to sell them at cost to establish a following which is exactly what they need to do, if they did that for 3 generations they would get their foot in the door of the GPU market. the first gen Arc was much better than expected just launched too late, too poor drivers and at too high a price initially. If they worked on that a bit more things would have been different, alas too many people work there that are in it just for a paycheck, Intel needs to fire another 20k paper pushers ASAP to get things moving.

@@LilianaStar Yes if the GPUs were stupid cheap then people would be willing to take the risk and deal with some driver issues. Intel only wanted to sell them at a premium price though. So buying an Intel GPU cost more than buying an AMD GPU despite Intel having worse performance and poor driver support. So they are basically making Intel GPUs for Intel fans who just WANT an Intel GPU.... which makes no sense. This is some new stance that so many large companies are making... they think that people are their fans and therefore they make products and prices based on their fans buying them with no care to compete in the market.

He said Intel GPUs effectively cancelled, meaning winding down. They already gutted most of the team, said that their priority is integrated graphics, so you really just want Pat to come out and say they will no longer make GPUs when what they need is more investor money and surely closing more revenue streams means a profitable company, right?

@@ludwigrevolution3288 It does, if you would use your brain and think about it, instead of just repeating whatever some 'influencer' tells you. How hard do you think it is to develop graphics drivers that need to support all the legacy API's and apps/games out there? Just think about it... then look at the speed of the incremental updates they did... AMD's software development (and support) is notoriously bad. Its actual the main reason why almost noone uses AMD cards professionally. Intel has A LOT of software that is used a lot, but you probably never heared of it. Takes about 5 minutes with google to realize this, but yet you dont do that and just think you know better than someone with actual experience in some of the related field(s).
