@@cyguaj8859 the smoothness of the frames being produced by the cpu and gpu in the game. If a graph were shown, we would see up and down spikes if the game is not producing frames at a steady pace. Ideally the graph line should be flat indicating a smooth buttery experience. No stuttering. Having a frame pacing problem could mean you are not able to draw frames ahead to maintain a specific frame rate.

@@johnWick-lu3ev Same here. I went from using a stock intel cpu cooler to the Cooler Master i70, and only had a change in idle temp by maybe 4c or so. The 3770 is known to run hot so I think it's actually normal for it to run at that temp.

I made a budget i7 Dell OptiPlex build as a fun project, turns out it is still a powerful processor. My machine has a 450w PSU, i7 3770, 16 GB dual channel ddr3, GTX 1660, 1 TB HHD mass storage with 120 Gb SSD boot drive. It runs most of these modern games at around 140-180fps, the bottle neck is actually the I7 3770 at 90-100% at 3.5 GHz, the GPU is at like 60-70% capacity.

My i7-3770, 16gb (1600mhz) and GTX 1070 setup is still a great gaming combo. I went from an i5-2500 to an i7-3770, maxing out the system and the difference in performance was huge. Runs cooler and outperforms the comparable high end 8 core/8 thread AMD FX processors of the same time period in almost all gaming benchmark comparisons.

Same here, I originally got a PC with an A8-7600 which was trash, then I got an i5-2500 and found it to be just a little slow especially in games like battlefield with 64 players. So I bought a whole desktop for 200 dollars. Got the Cpu, Ram and a hard drive then I popped in my GTX 1060 6gb and I've been able to play almost any game on the highest settings. My PC can easily out perform the Xbox one yet my total cost was about the same. All in i payed about 600 dollars for all the parts where most people would say you can't play on PC unless you dish out a lot of money but not true, just got to do some research. Cpu.userbenchmark was what I used to compare and find the right parts after having gotten the A8 processor and finding out core count and speed don't always indicate performance. The A8-7600 had 4 cores and was around 3.2 ghz same as my i7-3770. It also came out much more recently, yet I was getting half as many frames with that Cpu. I've seen videos where the i7-2500/3770 is on par with the new Ryzen 5's. Which is sad in a way. Feel like a decade old processor shouldnt be able to compete with brand new products, but im glad it does as i saved a nice chunk of change

The i7-3770 still holds its value on the used market. I'm still running one in my rig with GTX 1070 and 16GB 1600mhz ram. Got it as an update to old i5-2500 I was running before and the perfmance boost was well worth it to max out my setup. Without having to change any of the other components.

I'll toss a hat in for the 3770, some old workstations are 1080p 75fps capable with a decent gpu (maybe a few exceptions with steep dips) I just upgraded to an I3 10100, it's just better and as cheap. Hyperthreading on I3s made Intel competitive again. (amd forced competition)

Bought mine from a shop specialising in second hand tech a few years back. I didn't have the budget to buy new and updated hardware and this was the best processor to buy in my budget. I use it with an rx480 4 gig card and I have no issues with gaming on the machine at all. In fact 3770 always has enough room in terms of usage. Planning to upgrade the GPU in a few years instead. This cpu is still very capable in 2020! :)

@@Spark-pv9js hey! yep you can totally go with an i7 3770 and have 0 bottlenecking issues with rx480. I am not really very sure how it will perform with beefier cards tho, i checked a few videos where i7 3770 was paired with gtx 1070 and gtx 1080 and it seemed to do just fine, there was a little bottlenecking (around 10 fps maybe), with a gtx 1080ti but i am not too sure. I'd recommend you to ask this on Linustechtips forums or tomshardware as they have good knowledge. But if not, you can check a few videos on youtube where i7 3770 is paired with those cards, if the cpu seems to hit 95% + usage that means its being a bottleneck. But i think i7 3770 is still good even with those beefy cards. After all, its a 4C 8T processor and many games nowadays take good advantage of more cores/threads.

I have the i7-3770 with 16gb of ram and a zotac 1080 at stock clocks. This cpu is showing it's age in video editing and rendering applications. It takes such a long time to render anything and you can not play any gif's or at full quality (1080p 60fps) on the preview with no effects. It still does the job though. All games run great and I don't think I need a replacement any time soon. Waiting for ddr5 ram to come out so it would be a massive performance jump over all. Streaming is also fine, but it has it's issues. Probably down to my configuration most likely.

@@microRiZu That's strange. The highest usage I've ever seen on my 3770 was on warzone at 85 percent. Make sure you have good paste it could be throttling from heat. Or it could just be going bad...

Better be that way. If you put a GPU too powerful that will bring your CPU usage to 100%, your game will freeze and have bad stutters, even worse than a GPU bottleneck. CPU's bottleneck are the worse...

My i5-3330 is holding back my GTX 1050 Ti in certain games like Far Cry 5 and GTA V. The CPU is always 90-100% usage, especially in GTA V, making it unable to hold constant 60fps. I'm going to get the i7-3770 a couple of months from now. I believe this gpu is a lot better than the i5-3330.

Well i got a high end i7 4790k setup, yes idk why im here, and i can basically run everything on my 144hz, 1440p monitor, oh i have a gtx 1080ti, paired with 16gb ram and msi military class motherboard, forgot to mention, but im pretty sure thats the max i can upgrade, if i get a rtx 3080 i doubt i will see any improvement if any. I can also play vr at a smooth framerate, for some reason i think vr runs smoother then other games fsr.

70°C - 80°C... Nice and warm. EDIT: Dude, you're reaching 90°C on COD and above 80°C most of the time.. You might want to check your cooling. Get a good cooling tower and bring the heat down. Also do you have Turbo Boost off? This CPU is rated to go up to 3.9ghz under full load. Yours doesn't go past 3.7ghz.

Your setup is really good, maybe hdd makes problems. I use intel stock cooler and in bad pc case this is why i get so high temp.

Probably, I had stuttering with gta5 that was fixed when I installed a good ssd. The game streams data constantly, so using a fast disk drive makes sense. I hope that helps.

N. LiGHTNiN 1660 runs great. The performance is just slightly better than 1060. Really thin difference i think. And the power consumtion is about the same, 120 watt at peak.

I'm coming back to say that I bought a watercooler: coolermaster 240mm . my processor went from an average 80ºC to average 50ºC in 40~60% of processor usage. and maximum 105ºC with loss of performance, to maximum 63ºC totally stable at 100% of use for 20 minutes. Concluding it is very worthwhile to put a watercooler in the processor. and also here where I live it is very hot 24 ~ 29º

yo creo que deberías haber los gráficos al mínimo en el death stranding y los demas juego, porque al final la gráfica lo termino haciendo cuello de botella al procesador y si lo que queremos es exprimir el procesador tiene que correr si ningún limitante, porque solo se usaba en un promedio de 50% o por ahí, ya que lo máximo que se uso fue un 72%(en death stranding) . Aunque si estas en este mundillo de hacer test de juegos ya debes de saber esto, yo solo digo esto para que nos ayudes a nosotros a ver mejor lo que queremos, te lo digo con todo respeto y cariño, no es para ofenderte ni nada por el estilo, solo que voy a comprar ese procesador y quería saber cuantos fps saca como máximo

Hi, this processor is great for gaming but your gpu is weak for games. You can play fortnite on 720p maybe with 40-50fps....

Eu tenho esse CPU até hoje... Conseguiu fazer um overclock nele para 4.5 Ghtz pelo BCLK. Atualmente uso o 3770 com uma Z77, e como gráfica uso uma 5700XT. O CPU já se pagou faz anos...

Video should be called RX 470 in 2020. GPU (470) is constantly bottlenecking i7 3770 - it would easily get 20-40% more frames with something like GTX 1070 Ti, 1660, RTX 2060, RX 5700. 3770 is even less outdated than this video shows.

I've this cpu on an asrock fatal1ty p67 professional and even if it's not a K CPU I've overclocked it to 4,3 ghz. Then I have a 1070 zotac amp extreme overclocked to 2050mhz for the gpu and 1900 mhz for the vram. I can play everything at maximum details in 1080p at not less then 50 fps for a total build cost that is about 500$. I laugh every time that someone in a facebook group is saying that for a discrete gaming pc you have to pay 2000$...

Since everything is so damn expensive, I'm thinking of just upgrading my i3-3210 to i7-3770s or i7-3770k. I'll upgrade from 4 gigs of ram to 16 gigs. Get a 240 GB SSD as well maybe.. Question: currently on I7 3770 H61 Mobo and GTX 1650S, checking on CPUZ my CPU clock speed is normally at 3392 Mhz (same result for afterburner) while this video shows i7 3770 clock speed is normally at 3692 Mhz turbo boost. Running the Intel CPU test shows everything is fine, CPU is water-cooled and don't really notice any performance issues, however I'd like to know why can this be or if there is another way to check if CPU is faulty (very likely due aging) Thanks!

If you're benchmarking a cpu with a mid range card make sure you're using low settings so as to not bottleneck the cpu, in fortnite the cpu was at about 50% usage whereas the gpu was at 100% all of the time

Can any patron saint help me out with some advice. Context- I'm running a Dell Inspiron 660s rig. I currently installed Original HDD 500G ( SSD comes today 1TB) i5-3470 16 Gigs ram AMD Radeon HD 7570 With this setup I have not been able to run very basic FPS games. it still seems very choppy.
