I had this really funny incident to do with thermal paste one time, so I was in computer science and our teacher was having us pass around a CPU cooling radiator which still had thermal paste on it. When a high end CPU is $5-600 and a high end RTX card is closing in on 2k or more. I can absolutely see a practical purchase to get a over kill cpu if it benifits the GPU. You can have a solid rig for half the price you would spend on a 5080. 10/10 would take a gamble.

i think that the battlemage gpus are probably the best gpus for cpu heavy games that arent as heavy on the gpu like esports titles. for example if one were to play mostly 1080p-1440p in games like rocket league or fortnite with light moves into game like cities skylines, bo6 etc, it makes the most sense and is the best option for added context i have a 180hz 1440p monitor and would love a budget gpu upgrade that allows me to play at that resolution whilst keeping more of the budget for ram and a new cpu

You do understand that the point of this gpu is to save money in a GOOD build? Not to build a hyper-budgeted one? Pc part inflation has hit us so hard we forgot how its supposed to work. Everyones so used to pairing a cpu and gpu combination in a similar price range now, that the concept of a relatively inexpensive card made to be paired with mid-high end components literally just flies over some peoples heads.

Because that doesn't make any sense both ways If I'll need a 500$ CPU to pair with my 250$ GPU in order for it to perform well, it's either I can't afford it, or I don't want it because I can afford something much better. Or if I want/have a mid/high performance CPU, I will not be looking for an entry level GPU anyway from a performance standpoint.

considering the price of gpus and how much you have update them, id rather pair a 200-300$ cpu with a budget gpu and have a cpu that will last me longer that i can slowly upgrade gpus for, so when i do want to upgrade from a budget gpu to a better one i dont need to do a full rebuild and my cpu will still be able to work well with whatever gpu i get. considering people mostly swap gpus more frequently than cpus etc.

As a modded minecrafter, I need a good CPU and only need a GPU for some basic shaders. Although this GPU seems pointless as a budget option because you have to pair it with a high end CPU, it definitely represents a large group of people. I think it'll find its crowd well.

I think it's still a good option with a 179 bucks (20% European VAT and shipping included) 9600X from AliExpress. This CPU is an outstanding value component, it is cheaper than the 3770K I bought secondhand in 2016 or 2018, it is very good in gaming, we will see with new bench and bench protocols, but if the cards are at real MSRP price, it's good to go. Sadly, the supply of Intel cards is kinda low in Europe, and in France, the group that own most hardware store (LDLC) is almost 100 bucks higher than the MSRP, and at this point, it's better to wait a decrease in price, or to go to their competitor or buy a secondhand higher end GPU, like a 4070 (for 350+, because of the 100 bucks "LDLC tax")

Zach, I gotta disagree. You can get a used 10th gen i3 or 12th gen i3 ($60!) for very cheap and have a decent upgrade path, when you need to upgrade. There are so many other options for the old optiplex builds. Used 1060’s, 3060’s, and 4060’s. Plus who knows if nvidia will release a 5030 or something for those older or smaller systems.

For monitors, I would only go with trusted brands for my main monitor. For example, I have a Samsung G3 for my main and a koorui for my secondary. Just looking side by side the koorui's colour is noticeably worse. So LG, Samsung, Acer, and company that you know. For cases, just look at reviews.

We often have thoughts like this.: A good system, including a strong enough CPU (6-8 cores) and a good graphics card in a certain price range. We often assume that in the future, that card is no longer good enough to play new games smoothly, we will upgrade to another card. The prerequisite that we often choose is that the CPU that is a few years old will still be fine or at least not cause a bottleneck for the new card. For example: I bought a Ryzen 5-5600G in 2021, I have an integrated card (APU) enough to play DOTA 2. But then I see that I want to play GOW or Black Myth Wokong, I will buy onea new graphics card to upgrade my system. But we know that all cards below RX 7700xt will not bottleneck with Ryzen 5000 (depending on resolution, but I use an Ultrawide monitor, which has a resolution always higher than 1080p). So it will be difficult to have bottleneck. So I found it difficult to understand, why Intel released a mid-range graphics card, with performance only equal to 7600xt but requires the newest and most expensive CPUs on the market to run them.

@@DUNCAN230 Yup definitely, actually more than enough. You should expect over 400 fps on valorant and around 200 on fortnite. Also if you're building a PC, you can get something a lot better for 1300 dollars, depending on your region of course. Usually a 4060 build is around 900-1100 dollars but 1300 seems a bit excessive and you might not be getting the best deals. If you're happy paying 1300 for a 4060 build then by all means go ahead but if you're building something for yourself then I would try to fit in a better GPU at that price range.

there is no overhead problem. The b580 was intended as a entry level 1440p 90-110 fps gpu with 12 gb of v ram. If your going to run a b580 you need to be using 9th gen i5 or 8th gen i7 ryzen 5 3000 or better> guess what I run a 7900xt with a x3d chip in my rig>mw3 1440p frs3 native 250 fps same GPU paired with my daughters i5-9600 and the framerate dropped to 150fps. pair your GPU with the appropriate CPU and set your graphics according to the tier your hard wear fits in
