Intel had a special meeting earlier this week detailing the contribution from their two key segments: Intel Products and Intel Foundry. Management is making an ALL IN bet on the rejuvenation of their Foundry segment which is currently losing $7 billion per year! Should investors consider INTC stock on their turnaround potential?

Intel CEO has made it clear this will be a turn around plan and will take a few years. Everyone wants to get rich quick these days. USA needs chips and is in full support of Intel and making sure we are not too far behind (will continue supporting with investment). Just think about that for a minute.

Intel will lose the AI arms race. Its CPUs are falling behind AMD. It’s facing additional competition from Qualcomm. & AI market place is moving at a break neck speed.

Intel hasn't moved fast in the last decade... they milked the galaxy for years with their quad-cores but that money has evaporated since they didn't innovate enough.

Following value investing for the last couple years, it seems to me that value plays on value stocks typically don't pan. It seems to me that value plays on growth companies that have suffered some bad news and are surrounded by fear, but seem to have a favorable long term prognosis, are the way to go.

Thanks for making things clear. Investing solely on a predicted long-term base, especially when the business is not running successfully on the short-term, for me is master class challenging. I don't think I have the right abilities ...

so....does this mean we just reached the bottom for Intel? I mean the biggest concern we all had was the Intel Fab losses, and now we know. Cause by the time we see them reach 50% margin, their price would have risen to the sky. We live in a world of pure speculative investing, the only way to get ahead is to speculate on small evidence that Intel is catching up.

A lot of AI play went up from lots of optimism. I think expectations for Intel and even AMD are too high. Expect INTC to trend down further. I expect AMD to also face more downward pressure especially after their next earnings release.

AI is relatively mature and has been around for decades. The first AI played checkers in the early 1960s. It is an S curve. The early stairstep phase was 1960-2000 the vertical phase already happened in the 2000s to early 2020s. We are in the stairstep top of the S curve. Speculation is typically what precedes hyperinflation. The market is crashing up. Gold is warning investors. Commodities had a 10 year bear market and is currently in a bull market phase. People don't look at currency the way they did before the pandemic - the trust is deteriorating. Would people speculate if they viewed money as valuable? No, it is better to gamble it while you can. People are speculating on whatever they can. AI is just a speculative vehicle. Gold rallying relative to a country's currency is typically what happens before hyperinflation. Even in times of hyperinflation there are brief windows where currency outperforms as the government tries its best to keep the faith. That doesn't mean I should bet on currency or hold it. The question isn't "if" Intel will catch up. The question is "when" will intel catch up. Semiconductors are almost as small as they can get. That tech has peaked the S curve. Intel is like 3 years behind - woopdy do.

even if they cant be number one they are breaking into new markets and will create well needed competition. they are getting all that money and backing from the government and seem to be taking all the right steps to get back on track, i would be surprised if they dont grew in the next 2 to 5 years, hopefully a lot. with nvidia slowly backing away from gaming gpus and intels plans, i think it is a pretty good environment for intel to take advantage and grow.

I think intel is in the too difficult pile lol. It’s too hard to work out where the business will end up long term. By historical standards it is selling cheap right now, but it’s really not a predictable business. It is, however, pretty much the only company that is a foundry and a designer and it is also US based, so might be worth taking a small position in for the long haul. The capital intensive nature of the foundry business is 😫

@@Sojourner88 They were the leader in CPUs for decades. As someone that works in IT intel is what is used pretty much exclusively for Server and User CPUs. AMD has just recently taken them over and just barely. I think Intel is motivated to regain their former glory.

@@xdognatex9897 I have no doubt Gelsinger is extremely motivated to regain their former glory but it is not certain that they can after 20 years of failed business strategy. Possible but highly challenging and uncertain… and unless China attacks Taiwan and all the factories in Taiwan are destroyed, it is unlikely Intel will succeed.

With the 30 billion dollars from the fed, the foundries will be built. The problem really is that even the foundry cannot produce enough. The foundry cannot provide enough for intel yet , forget about new clients. I am for intel and paitiently waiting for it . I like this ugly stock. If intel gets an overwhelming quarter the price will increase drastically and you would lise out on one of the cheapest semiconductors. All the others are super expensive.

This has been my message for years and I've been short Intel. I believe their foundry business will fail in general maybe gaining only markets where it has to be made in the USA. Investors hadn't yet cottoned onto the idea of how much money Intel will sink into this with a long long timeline to even get to breakeven. All the while they are losing market share and profits in datacenter and other segments.
