The first time I saw the code name of AMD's Granite Ridge, I was confused because it sounds so similar to Granite Rapids 😂 Interesting that Intel keep using lakes, coves, rapids, sounds, forests to name their products. Certainly more identifiable than AMD's naming scheme. Good presentation! Maybe a smoother transition to end video is better. Plus, the audio is good.

AMD literally uses Italian cities, how hard is that to follow?

Still have the same issue in both case, after a while, I just don't remember which one came before the other, imo, nothing beats a good old generation number.

@@JMurph2015 Only EPYC line uses Italian cities? Besides, Granite Ridge is a client side product, and is not using a Italian city name.
@JMurph20153 ай бұрын
@@NicolasChanCSY ok, but Granite Rapids is only a server product as well. Can you name all of the codenames for the same generation of client SoCs, embedded, and other products? Doubt it.

@@JMurph2015 I meant Intel has kept the tradition of having Lakes for CPU, Cove for P core architectures, Mont for E core architectures, Rapids for Xeon over the years. While you still have to keep reading reviews to know all these code names, you can tell immediately that XZY Lake is a new CPU, ABC Cove is a P core architecture, etc.

AMD and Intel need to be barred from copying one another's naming schemes it's just gotten worse! I think this format worked fairly well and the video was enjoyable. Looking forward to future videos and the inevitable writeups on the products covered.

Will Granite Rapids be able to run League of Legends at 1080p? 🤔
