VMWare is pronounced like VM wear, not VM Wire. x86 is pronunced as X 86, not chi 86. All the previous Intel CEOs since Paul Otellini lack innovation, and the ability to invest in technology and sectors that are profitable. It would be difficult for any new CEO to pick up such a mess.
It is not the case for Japanese Semi-conductor Industry. If you traced the matter, the collapse of Japanese Semiconductor industry was due to US decision as Japan was banned to export chips to outsiders (except US) in 1980s and thus Japan had to focus on memory storage RAM (i.e. what NEC Samsung did) US protect the market and thus let Intel to take the chance to develop general microprocessor. ASML technology is also based on US technology and thus has limitation in exporting. That is fair. Japan has already done the best in her settings.
Aren't robots perfect for these kinds of jobs? They are precise, reliable, and tireless. With the latest AI technology, they can also operate with minimal supervision.

Intel has a problem in her business model. She kept acquiring companies and trying to do many activities. However almost none of them preform better after the acquisition. It is because of her culture problem. And thus she just acquired and resold them in the market or let them died. She had just wasted so much money. She's never be hamble to deal with the new area. If she had come down and understood the uniquess of those business well, the result would be totally different
Biggest mistake is he still trust off-source India team that they can beat TSMC. He is a dreamer - Dream the impossible dream because Off source team has been burning money by over promise and under delivery all these years.
