Intelligent Layering Metal 3D Printing at 3DEO

3DEO’s proprietary Intelligent Layering process is similar to binder jetting and other sinter-based additive manufacturing technologies but the geometry of the part doesn’t come from the printing mechanism. Rather than depositing binder at specific points, the company’s Saffron machines coat each layer of powder with binder; a milling head with multiple cutters creates the features of each part.

Hi Charles, Part of the leftover cake is used as a conformal setter to mitigate warpage effects during sintering. The proprietary binder 3DEO developed is aqueoused and can be washed out. 3DEO is currently refining the process for recycling the remainder of the material. Stephanie, At the 2:21 mark in the video, there appears to a laser spot traversing a liquid bath on the left side of the image. Not clear to me how that is part of the 3DEO process. Can you explain?
