Hi, I really need your help. Can you please explain how I can connect the flir lepton 3.5 to a video transmitter? I will use flir lepton 3.5 with Purethermal mini pro JST-SR

Hi, interesting video, I wanted to ask you if there are possibilities to use a cheap kit for a thermal camera to put on a DJI Mavic Mini, or is it impossible given the weight? Is there a module that can be attached to the Mini plug & play? This is because the Mini could use it in the city, unlike other heavier drones. I would like an economic solution to be found.

I feel like at night, you would be able to see a person much easier, since there is not as much heat on the ground at night.

Thousands of people have the FLIR ONE Pro already that plugs into their smart phones. Can you fit this FLIR ONE Pro imager onto a transmission or recording module and attach it to the Drone? There would be a huge market for this adapter.

Is there any micro solution that is powerful for thermal imaging for more than 200m that can be attached to lightweight sub 250g FPV drone? I mean, flir black hornet is very powerful yet pocket size and I am wondering how far it can detect with thermal imaging?

Thanks for asking. When it come to infrared, the inherent difficulty is that the wavelengths are way bigger than visible light wavelengths (about 20 times on average: 10 micrometers/0.5 micron). So the thermal sensor either 1) must be 20 times bigger to achieve the same 1080p or 4K resolutions as in daylight cameras, meaning they must be way heavier , or 2) of the same size but got 20 times lower resolution (instead of 1080 we’re down to just 50, which is pretty much useless for drone applications). Either way, it’s really difficult if not impossible to attach to such small drones. But we did it here just for fun kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5baqZdqns6ofZI

@@sUAScom Thanks, so Lepton 3.5 full mounting kit as shown weights nearly 100g, and what about weight of Boson 640 as shown?
@brezovprut44313 жыл бұрын
@@sUAScom Also, what is weight of VulR batteries? would it be any significant difference if it would be powered directly by drone batteries?
@sUAScom3 жыл бұрын
@@brezovprut4431 yes you could power it using the drone’s power source. It’s just more hassle having to open it up and do some soldering works, which is not too convenient for an average user

Nice effort good video👍 If one wants FLIR Lepton, wouldn't it make more sense to buy Parrot Bebop-Pro Thermal which comes with FLIR OnePro for $1500 drone & thermal camera included in the box?🤔 Unless a person owns a DJI drone or is a big fan of DJI drones😉
@sUAScom6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your interesting question AND ANSWER as well! 😉 That is right, if you already have a drone, whichever brand it is, you can use this, attach it quickly to it and fly. Then you can remove it from the drone and use the drone for other purposes. In fact, this thermal system + Mavic pro is also in the range of $1500, while the Mavic Pro is an awesome drone with a 4K gimbal camera, much better than the Bebop?

@@sUAScom that's so darn cool. I think you've made a customer, I'm REALLY interested, this would make a heck of a useful tool for my search and rescue teams.

One must consider industry standards and customer requirements for use of IR cameras as cheap ones will end up on a shelf!
@sUAScom6 жыл бұрын
The thermal IR camera itself is Lepton, a FLIR camera. So we got your idea. However, this comment may be more suited for FLIR itself if you think they are doing a poor job. We ourselves think the Lepton is a great idea, with the cost of just a 1/5 of a 320 camera, while the resolution is 1/2 of that. Here we are helping to integrate the low-cost FLIR cameras into drones for beginners who want to start with IR cameras. We have made integration very convenient and effortless on common drones, one can just buy then plug and play.

Lepton 3.5 shows better thermal while the other is better quality but weak thermal!
