I'm super curious about your experience. The "received wisdom" is that it's best to start small, so I wonder what it's like to start with 200hp+ !!

10:17 Skip Invert just blew my mind! Along with the length settings that can be either to the track or global makes this an incredibly flexible sequencer. This will likely replace the jamming I do on my beatstep pro, it's just a matter of time and space in the case. Awesome, awesome sequencer! Excited to keep watching and see what other goodies are in that module and if you cover the expander. Keep making sweet stuff!

My goodness! The rachetting along with the pulse count larger than the number of ratchets is sooooo good! I often hear melodies in that push and pull kinda tension of going faster and slower than the average timing and having the flexibility of breaking the time down into more interesting timings like that is so cool.

Such an amazing sequencer, I don't think most reviewers have grasped the full scope of the Metropolix yet. There are so many ways to generate ideas, add variation and complexity without losing the fun/jam factor - it's a joy to use. I've uploaded an annotated demo video featuring a few of the features mentioned in this vid and will be uploading more in future - there''s so many features/possibilities to cover.

Watching this again. Metropolix is relentlessly mind blowing. Sold all my modular gear but kept this because it’s coming to the incinerator ( well, maybe I’ll leave it for someone special unless I find a way to bring it to the next life, if there is one) and it’s easy to midi sequence… Typhon and various iOS apps. Now I’m adding a new round of modules exclusively for this beast. I get a ton without half these tricks, It’s time to add the rest and get on the road to mastery. Thank you for continuing to develop this monster.

Last time I watched this video, I had no Intellijel modules. Now I have Scales, Tetrapad/Tete, Shifty, Plog, Dixie2+, and finally ordered Metropolix just 2 days ago. Really loving your gear. Time for a refresher on everything that I saw here while it's in shipping.

Thanks, this was really interesting, and the meandering format was kinda nice to chill to while I organized my sample folders. I've been using the Metropolix for a few months now and some of this was absurdly new to me.

This things amazing. The balance between musical playability and complexity is one few modules get right but Metropolix IMO is pretty much the poster child for it. It's so immediate and inspiring but still allows you to go crazy deep without being too much of a slog. Definitely a "never get rid of" module for me alongside Pam

Just got the module, thank you guys for this video, hopefully we'll get an updated video. That ratchet was killing me before coming across this video, haha, I thought it was a malfunction as to why it keeps pulsing like crazy.

I love mine. Would be awesome for it to be able to take an external voltage in X Y or Z, send it to Pitch Pre, and output it via the A or B output, effectively making it work as a quantizer for external sources WITHOUT sacrificing a track. It's a lot of fun to do this with for example a Clep Diaz, but I lsoe a track :-(

Yo, i have the Metropolix and the Atlantix in my NiftyKeyz now. I hope you know how i appreciate your hardware and passion. I could buy a orig. SH-101 now about the same price of those 2 modules together, but as great and raw the Roland sounds i prefer the stability and possibilities of these modern units. Keep at it.

I feel like a compact expander with 4 or 8 sliders or knobs to for complete control over the second track would be kind of amazing. As sweet as it is having the two related sequences, I feel like it would offer just as much jamability for that second track for something like a bassline and maybe you could have the ability to have that effect the root of track 1. I don’t like the idea of breaking the relevance of the sliders like something like varigate does so it’s kinda nice bot to see that but yeah, an expander for the second track would be a no brainer for someone who falls in love with this sequencer.

Completely agree. This illustrates how much the Metropolix can do, but doesn’t do much to help me actually be able to apply it because I couldn’t follow how fast it all went.

Very nice video to watch while waiting for the Metropolix to arrive in the mail! :D I have one question that I could not find an answer to in the manual: With the gate expander connected, is there a way to assign a mod lane to chage a specific gate output clock division?

It sounds like the designer is doing the demo. Cardinal sin. They presume WAAY too much information. Plus his hands at key points were obscuring display and controls, many of which he never addressed. 😩 New purchase. Looking forward to using it. At least it appears you can learn learn by doing, but will look at the manual. Will never have room in my head for all those loop features.
