Metropolix is a powerhouse for this kind of sequencing. I like to do similar sequencing and use the second channel of metropolix pitch to open up FM2 on the Morgasmatron filter to give another polyrhythmic set of accents.
@modularinspiration2 жыл бұрын
Interesting idea, never thought of using Metropolix to open a filter as usually leave that to something like mimetic digitalis. Thanks for the idea and will give it a go!

Hey Mark, love this video. Btw, you inspired me to upgrade my main pitch sequencer from the Mimetic Digitalis to the Metropolix. I got it a couple weeks now. It's capabilities for jamming live and improvising are so impressive. Huge upgrade, totally worth the money. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂

my kinda music!! incredible what you can do with one note. I had a metropolis, loved it, but sold it during the pandemic. slide feature is just awesome
@modularinspiration2 жыл бұрын
Metropolis(x) is awesome for creating catchy moving rhythmic lines over a kick so I need to do a patch breakdown because it’s super simple and intuitive. But technically this is one chord and variations, not just one note here. Didn’t realise Sinphonion would be so playable but not for the faint hearted and also a wallet burner!

@@modularinspiration forgive my ignorance question, i have a super basic question regarding clock from PNW. How does the reset differ from the clock? or are they the same? i'd look at the LEDs but they are concealed
@modularinspiration2 жыл бұрын
@@drthorpe8602 maybe this one need a quick video in itself as it’s not obvious how to do it with PAMs. The rest is a single high trigger on start. That’s why you don’t see everything automatically reset when the sequence stops.

Hey, so long as you're soliciting feedback on video topics, is there anything you especially like about the Squid Salmple?
@modularinspiration2 жыл бұрын
Hi George, the Squid is a difficult one as I generally don’t like samplers. However, as a compact drum voice it works great for me as I usually just put a 909 kick and hats on my videos. The worst thing about it is 8 drums and only 4 outputs. That’s annoying when kick and snare are both on output 1 and I want to sidechain the kick. But for a sampler it’s dead easy to use considering there are menus. Assigning cv to any parameter is easy and channels 6,7,8 have dedicated cv too. So in summary it’s my go to compact unit for drums.

This just popped up in my feed. Great vid man from a relatively modular newbie here… What compressor would you recommend for the rack? At the moment I’m side chaining either with an inverted envelope into a VCA or within Bitwig. Cheers man and a new sub for thee here 👍
@modularinspiration2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the sub! Trying to keep the content coming each time I try something I think people will be interested in. An inverted envelope works fine but I find setting the gain helps on a real compressor helps. If you’re sending stems out to your DAW then that’s the easiest place to add a side chain but if you’re looking for a full performance case, take a look at the Cosmotronic Messor if WMD MSCLs are too hard to find now. Alternatively, I’ve heard really good things about the Knobula Kickain which has side chaining built in. Hope this helps and good luck with whatever route you take, and let me know too :)
