Do you always leave the final border till the end, or do you sometimes quilt in chunks as you go? And what would determine your choice? Thanks for the wonderful tutorial.

The way I approach the borders is determined by the quilt. I like to quilt the inside of the quilt first and determine the amount of draw-up based on the density. I usually stitch in the ditch to stabilize followed by border work This allows me to adjust the density of the quilting in the border. Like everything in quilting, there are different methods but I don't want to over quilt or under quilt and always try to maintain consistency. If it's a casual custom, I would consider chunking the border design. I hope this helps. Thanks for asking.
