I was choking up at the part (82 seconds) where the boy and mom are playing and the mom talks about how it can help her connect with her son and have fun together. That's what it's all about! That's our mission being fulfilled before our eyes. I'm not crying. I got something in my eye.

It was very touching and you should be very proud. Intellivision treated customers as if they were stakeholders by involving them throughout the design process (Mom Summit / Atari Forms / reaching out to KZbin contributors). This is how a company should function and Intellivision should be a model for others.

They have a real shot. There was a similar vibe when the Nintendo Wii first came out. It became insanely popular because the games were very easy to play for all ages. None of this online FPS where you are killed every few seconds. My wife is not a gamer, but she loved Wii bowling. I imagine that the Amico, with its accelerometer could do Wii style gaming.

My love affair with video games, which has lasted for 40 years, began on Christmas Day 1982, when my parents (at my specific request!) gave me the Mattel Intellivision with NASL Soccer. My first console, absolutely unforgettable. I'm happy that the Intellivision is still alive and well and remembered by so many fans and I hope that Amico has the luck he deserves.

I can't wait. My grandmother played Burger Time and Lock N Chase religiously (and she's excited too), I really loved Astrosmash, Micro Surgeon, and Math Fun. Now I have a ton of nephews and nieces and am looking forward to seeing educational games for them and couch co-op for us adults. Online gaming is fun, but in person gaming is so much more fun.

Call me crazy but, I’m more excited about this console than the more popular next gen consoles that we just got. Why stress out trying to buy a PS5 or Xbox, when is impossible to get. My money is going towards intellivision amico.

Just preordered mine... I am beyond excited! Intelivision II was my first gaming experience and I still love all the games from Astrosmash to Thin Ice. Me and my sister loved to play Frog Bog together! Now I’ll be able to game with my autistic Brother in law and his friends. I can’t wait to get this system! I love the controller and now we won’t have to worry about losing the plastic controller inserts!

I’m excited for this console. My boys have sat in their rooms playing Xbox and pc alone since the original Xbox came out. We’ve never actually played video games together as a family. It would be cool if they could rework some of the older roms to widescreen and give some polish, but keeping them close to the original.

It was nice to see random people actually using the controllers and loving it. I'm still having slight issues with my left hand after brain surgery, but the controllers looks easier to use than the PS1 I was trying a few days ago. I'm thinking the Amico could make a good occupational therapy tool. :) Is there a list of games available at launch? Also, is Earthworm Jim actively in development right now, or is it years away?

Most of the original Earthworm Jim team works for Intellivision and focused on the launch I believe the plan is for it to release before Christmas 2022

Well if Microsoft hadn't decided to intentionally remove as much couch co-op as possible from the Xbox to force people to buy Xbox Live subscriptions then maybe they wouldn't have put themselves in this position. But hey, The people that succeed in the market are the ones that find the niches other people miss. With so much being shifted to online gaming a small inexpensive system like amico could really clean house for couch co-op.

@@tobalaz I guess? I could name a ton of couch co-op games on Xbox. Even more on Switch. A bunch of retro indies are... and If it wasn't for online gameplay I wouldn't have been able to play with any of my friends after they all moved off, so I'm not personally going to vilify it.

I had horse racing on the original Intellivision back in 1982 (still have the console and game). As a kid, I absolutely loved the game. (i work in the horse racing community so my opinion may be biased)

I will Not be rushing out and getting one as soon as it comes out, I will wait to see how well it does but then again if it does seem to be a great success when it first come out with record breaking sales and problems keeping units on store shelves I still would be worry of it's long term success, I don't want another Dreamcast, a Great System I slowly put payments on till launch day when I picked it up after work and was all excited about how awesome of a system it was and how I finally had a system with arcade quality home versions of arcade game. I bought a bunch of extra VMUs for it, a VGA Box a third party controller with auto fire,2 rumble packs a custom translucent replacement case and even a device that hooked to the parallel port on a PC to backup game saves on my PC. So in other words I went all out on the Dreamcast and it failed in less than 2 years. 250 bucks is a lot to spend only to get burned if it fails and have a 250 paper weight. How do we know Tommy is not going to push the release date back again when October 2021 draws near? Also if any games will be 2 player only I will not be very likely to get one, that is what turned man people off of the original Intellivision, when the sports games had no one player option. There seems to be too much hype and not enough actual full game play of completed games, just mostly demos and game play of simple get old fast games like that cars on a Hot Wheels Track crashing into each other or so far just a un finished Astrosmash. I'm in no ways saying it sucks and I hope it will be a great long term success like maybe at least half as successful as the Wii or even as successful as the Wii. I grew up on Intellivision and still play it today and have a few home brew games, the DK Arcade series of games are awesome I have all 3 of them and so is TNT Cowboy, a NES Quality game.
