Another thing that people don't mention. A lot of these folks promoting and shilling the Amico? They don't realize that they are violating the FTC Guidelines themselves. The FTC states on their site "Disclose when you have any financial or personal or family relationship with a brand. Don't assume your followers already know about your brand relationships. Not doing so is a violation of the FTC Guidelines." And a lot of these folks are being sent free Amico hats, Amico t-shirts, etc. or are investors themselves...and yet they don't mention that in their videos.

It really is nice to see someone like Jenovi give his raw impressions. YET, even with that, even with someone being real and honest, some Amicommunists still attack the guy on not being "up to date" with every single piece of Amico news. I thought the market was Mom and Dad of today? Are they up to date with the Amico? Do they even know it exists? What does being up to date even have to do with "impressions" when opening a package? Tommy literally spent 10 plus minutes talking about what "limited edition" meant in his unboxing video, can never just give a simple, direct answer, only to say there will be something "special" for owners digitally on the console. Either the keys are unique. In which case they can be stolen and used up without even leaving the store. Or the keys are not unique. Firstly, why would they put an ESRB rating on a product that technically is not a game? Secondly, how was the ESRB able to rate the games shown on the box? Are the games actually done? Even if the games existed and you could download them, most of the games already exist in some form on other platforms and unless someone is out there building an Amico emulator, they would still be worthless until the hardware comes out. That's a lot of trouble to go through for a bunch of mobile quality shovelware for a console that may never come out.

I assumed they would at least have included rfid shielding in the packaging like Amiibo. I did have a feeling all along though that the rfid feature in general would complicate the hell out of transferring ownership. Even more so if the code is written on the card. The problem is you can't just buy the game used. It sounds like the original owner needs to do something to transfer the digital game to you. I also have to wonder how many people accidentally leaked a game code doing an unboxing.

I was a young person when the original Intellevision was released 40 some odd years ago…it was a marginal console at best. No one was excited about it even with the large marketing push behind it.

My neighbors across the street from me bought an Intellivision because they were really into sports. And it ended up being that was the only reason to play that console. Because they were always over at my house playing all my Atari games

@@JohnSegerclucka atari had more pick up and play games. Intellivision games were a little more involved than atari games. This is why you had to read the manuals and have the overlays, especially for the intellivision sports games and the Role Playing Games also.

Remember when Sony first sold the PS2 in Europe they specifically called it a computer (as it had a copy of Yabasic included) instead of game system to avoid tax laws... just saying Amico investors, better be careful they don't copy the VCS and give it a Sandbox mode.

@Marc Carran The same version as the Wii had? Course, we have to think back to the specs, such as they might be. That would have been a device that could muster what, Android 4.1, maybe 5 as a stretch? I can't imagine those versions would be much secure, and I'd be surprised if it has a kernel version higher than 3.

It would be neat if it was no more than 120 bucks and had a collection of original games built into it that with a push of a button could swap over to modern visuals (like Halo Combat Evolved did). They could have also ported this product onto a cart/disc and put it on modern consoles as a backup plan, which would have allowed them to see if a simple family console was actually a good idea or not.
