Great restoration. Really enjoyed that. A few decades ago I visited both Normandy and The Ardennes. There were a couple of panthers on display. Big tanks. One of the roads in The Ardennes had dozens of turrets from knocked out Shermans on the sides of the road, about every few hundred meters. Shell holes in them almost big enough to put your fist through them.

Wonderful 'new' footage. Even when the damage that knocked a tank out is not visible, it seems as though you can tell it has lost its 'life.'

Panthers really look cool. Too bad they were a maintenance nightmare. I believe at their first engagement at Kursk more broke down than were lost to enemy action. And they were used for such a terrible purpose.

The conclusion i came to which is quite interesting is that the sadism was linked directly to the intelligence the german people had. My idea of the lesson of ww2 is “What smart angry creatures can do when mislead” So the beauty and genius really does just come with the chance of extreme evil unfortunately

First panthers which were the vk 3002 i think had lot and i mean a lot of engine and tansmission issues that they lost them every time, thst happened because in 1943 germany needed a medium tank asap and they didn't bother to make test to the tank etc so it was miserable, however the models after like panther D had those problems fixed and had way less problems was as reliable as panzer 4 and tiger and it was good and impressive

Nothing is dubbed, all audio is from original newsreels, from 1:10 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 7:50 it's orginal sound from that newsreel. The music is to protect this footage, or would you like a giant watermark?
