5:33 They should probably give more training for allergic reactions. The guy who was swelling up didn't feel it go in because it didn't go in. He didn't take the blue cap off, an epi pen will not work if it's left on. They were lucky af that this wasn't an extreme reaction.

I sympathise with you , I'm 17 and severely and deathly allergic to dairy and sesame seeds. I used my epi pen on myself during covids lockdown actually on April 28th. To put it lightly , it was an eventful day . Its kind of weird though because me and my brother (who is a few years older than me) are both severely allergic to dairy but he's not allerhic to sesame. And no one in our family on both sides has ever had any food allergies. But my mums side and dads side of the family have between them eczema, asthma and hay-fever, in which me and my brother have between us. So where on earth the food allergies came from i have no clue . A bit of a mystery.

I feel for the cold water allergy guy. I kept breaking out in bumps and being itchy during the summer. I thought I was having an allergic reaction to mosquitoes or something for years and didn't take it seriously because it was only annoying and not a big problem. Then one day in my teens I had a REALLY bad reaction just like he did. After that, I finally saw an allergist/immunologist and found out it was an allergic to DEET, a chemical in the vast majority of insect repellents. The lesson is if you're having symptoms that resemble an allergy, don't shrug it off. Investigate.

Hannah Castree I think that what they mean is that while it would indeed be cool to go to bondi and meet the lifeguards, these guys still have jobs to do when they are on call. So people shouldn’t be distracting them too much, because people’s lives could actually be at risk.

Bach_in_a_minuet Yeah I do agree, I wouldn’t put myself in trouble or just attract their attention on purpose. But if I happen to pass one of them, of course I would say hi and greet them. I would love to meet them but yeah I get what you mean, I wouldn’t want to distract them:)

I haven't gotten far in my allergies to the point that I can't breathe, but I can tell you that the moment your skin started sprouting hives and everything practically itches, that's really terrifying-especially when you don't know what you're allergic to yet. One time I was really sick, temperatures going 39°C, our school nurse gave me some meds not knowing that I was allergic to that. I don't even know. By the time the class ended, I was crying since everything itches and my skin is full of red patches.
