Man, this made the Tau feel terrifying. The number of people dying at once got crazy high at times. But while Krieg didn't win, you can at least say they didn't go down without a fight.

For the Tau this was a horrific loss of life, for the Imperium? Imagine stubbing your toe, it hurts, but nothing too bad, That Fort is not going to belong to the Tau for long, since all it takes is a decent sized Waaagh or a minor Crusade to wipe them from existence.

I wasn't shock Tau won. They do in the end have the superior technological advances and firepower. In the end the Imperial Guard are just normal human with lots of bodies to throw away. Krieg guardsman are mostly good for siege warfare only. When face with superior firepower; they lose easily unless they got extra backup from other specialized Regiments or from the Space Marines. Now if Tau fought against Cadians or Catachans; the Tau has a smaller chance to lose.

@@imaran1303 Tau are way smarter. No way they lose to Krieg. Krieg are only good for long range battle which in the end hurt them since Tau are also masters of long range battle. If this was a full fledge war with the entire armies of Krieg and Tau; Tau takes the victory 9 out of 10 times. Tau's are battle hardened with their deep indoctrination to win or die. Toss in their alien bodies along with diverse allies; Krieg troops are toast since their bodies are only human. Only thing Kriegs are good at are bombardments along with flanking with their Death Riders. However Tau has their Kroots which can easily plow through the trenches along with fast flying mobile artillery who can also bombard Krieg positions and relocate easily. I don't see Krieg beating the entire army of Tau ever unless they have the Space Marines or other specialized Regiments to counter the heavy mobile artillery.

@@coolgamers2794 If we se up all Krieg and all Tau against each other, the Krieg win, cause the Krieg have something that the Tau don't... well... two things. First their unflinching and unwavering loyalty and courage that borders on the suicidal and second their sheer numbers. The Tau would run out of ammunition by the end of the first wave and would be overrun by the second in mere moments. The Krieg Deathriders would easily outflank any Tau stupid enough to try and take them on, and their artillery was enough to turn a Hive City into rubble, you know, the cities built to withstand almost everything? Honestly, the Tau are a joke. One decently sized Waaaagh or one Crusade is enough to send them into extinction. The multiple times where they were nearly sent to oblivion they got lucky because a bigger threat turned up that required more immediate attention. The only reason Tau still exist is because they are too insignificant to be considered a actual threat.

Not at all, it's just unfortunately you can't really play Tau like the codex tells you how Tau fight because GW never really figured out how to put guerilla warfare and real tactics into their game lol. It's the same for this mod, you can kinda jetpack the Crisis suits but it's janky as hell and Tau sitting at range blasting the shit out of a kreig fortress whilst sneaking in stealth suits and doing bombing runs doesn't exactly work or look as cool for a video. In all honesty one of the only game's I've played where you can actually use Tau like they are supposed to be used is Warhammer 40k Gladius and they are fun as hell to play there :)

For the Tau, this was a hard fought victory with casualties they wont soon forget. For the Imperium, this was basically stubbing your toe, painful, but mostly just inconvenient.

Their death was in vain. LOl. Tau is always underestimated. Krieg's greatest strength is their siege warfare and keeping the enemy at bay with bombs and chemical attacks. Anything past that then they only have their Deathriders and Calvary to help push enemy troops back. Even though Krieg has their own tanks and heavy armor; Tau's superior firepower with mobile heavy infantry is just way too much.

The Cadian and Catachans were the only few regiments who was dropped into unknown planet and forced to survive their for millennia's causing organic bio evolution making them more physically stronger as well as more cunning to battle the harsh planet themselves and hostile enemies.

I do see how they are a but overrated, but their appeal is that their ordinary zealous men and teenagers who get sbit done through mass casualties. Their uniqueness comes from thay they aren't unique, they just have a shit ton of troops and resources to throw around.

To be fair the Krieg forces weren't set up that great. Many didn't even have sandbags for cover. Tons of artillery that doesn't have line of fire on to most the map the enemy approaches etc. This felt more like a fortress Krieg just happened to take, maybe the day before and not one they fortified themself. Seriously they are masters of Siege warfare and this was a pretty shoddy job of defense.

Krieg forces are only good for siege warfare; in close combat they are easily killed since in the end they are merely humans. The Tau has superior firepower and have the Vespids/Kroot races to help them finish off any enemies. Tau can close the distance with superior firepower causing instant destruction to Krieg troops and supplies. Tau has heavy mobile infantry and heavy that can easily jump from place to place causing instant destruction to high profile artillery batteries. Only other regiment that can stand alone toe to toe with the Tau are probably Cadians or Catachan due to their specialized ability to engage in guerilla warfare. Cadians troops had survived the most diabolic battles with Chaos and Catachan had fought long enough in the deadly jungles to use traps to disrupt enemy troops.

@@averybishopmartin6964 After the Damocles Gulf Crusade they saw a fraction of the imperium's numbers and power and they completely changed their expansion tactics. The Tau survived because the imperium rerouted their crusade force to hive fleet behemoth when it attacked. They suffered heavy loses and entire Tau colony worlds were exterminated. Causing the Tau to both fear and respect the Imperium. During a battle a Tau pathfinder and his team destroyed a Dreadnought and opened it up to see what kind of technology they were dealing with. Inside they found a space marine that was thousands of years older than their own civilization. Another instance of the Tau learning just how vast the Imperium is, is when they defeated a space marine chapter master who was much larger than the others and far more skilled. They assumed they had killed the Emperor only for the Imperium's attack to continue until the last man ended up dead. They later learnt that was only a leader of a small number of space marines. In the end hundreds of millions of humans died and billions of Taus were killed but the Tau ended up winning. Now the Tau annex worlds that are less populated and or exceedingly far from the Imperium. usually they will use diplomatic means now instead of wars when dealing with Imperial worlds.

Krieg suks. They seem cool in costumes only; but in the end they are good for only siege warfare. Against a fast rapid superior force like Tau; then Krieg troops are nothing but dead men walking. Cadians and Catachans could had done a way better job defending due to more hardened tactics against a superior enemy force.

Not shocked Krieg got their butts handed to them by some blue berry men in superior battle suits. People seem to overrate Krieg since the only thing cool about Krieg troops are their uniform. Other than that Krieg is good for siege warfare mostly. Against forces of Chaos, Tau, and more powerful foes that relies on long range mobile weapons then they lose easily. Krieg is good for battling other humans or lesser foes like the Orks mostly since average Orks are not as sophisticated.

Militarily, for a fortification of this type and size, your deployments are all wrong, Most importantly the Artillery: City Or Urban Fighting as it is now known Sucks Hardcore plus totally favors the defender by at a 1 vs 10 ratio due to all the "murder holes" (i.e. those holes in walls called windows and can include both both the intentional / unintentional creations in walls), "dead spaces" ( roads between roads, interiors of houses / businesses/ factories) and "danger crossings" (roads or fields completely cleared of foliage which therefore makes it difficult to cross without being seen / shot). With that all being said, you Must at least set up your units to at least take advantage of the terrain and it's features (or lack therein) to put your opponents (whoever the heck they may be, Tau included) at A Disadvantage, if you do not, you Die. It's Simple as that since cities are normally called by one fun other term routinely by Infantry, "Death Traps" and you are the "bullet magnet" (the one Everybody loves to shoot). Common urban fighting tactics: 1) Hidden units: Take one third of the units your planning on using and hide them in advantageous positions in the fort. That's your ready reserve and your one plus only "Ace in the Hole" as it were. Also, your opponents Know that you are doing this But are Completely powerless to stop you from doing it since most defenders are able to "prepare" their fortifications which tends to mean I know most Imps (slang for soldiers) have adequately deployed "improvised" surprises for visitors as well. 2) Only engage from a position of strength: When you outnumber them and know you can, then please do but when heavily outnumbered give orders to perform recon missions instead or take the time to fade away only, never ever engage from the weaker position because you Will Lose.....every time. 3) Multiple Supply Caches are not only necessary, they are the entirety of your lifeline unless you can hastily reconfigure the governors garden into a garden garden to start supplying supplies to the troops which is only viable during a long campaign to be honest and May not work out even then. Yes, this includes water, so calculate how much water your soldiers / civilians need and then stockpile ten times that amount (at a bare minimum, more is definitively suggested). It's usually around this time the horses are shot to make a fine horse meat stew and the goat gets murdered instead of producing milk to become meals for troops. Instead have plenty of caches and save a goats life.....for the goat milk of course! 4) When fighting in an urban environment, you Will take casualties! It is just a fact of life you are going to have to live with until you win the fight. Plan accordingly. 5) Have several dedicated repair areas that are geographically separated for your armies needs but you want them located separately so they can not All be taken down All at one time. 6) Defenders Must be able to "switch out" units that have been damaged and are in need of rest due to exhaustion to keep them from "burning out" so having the repair bays mentioned in #5 would be extremely handy right about now. This includes ALl units that have been reduced to 1/2 strength due to loss of morale and in order to preserve the unit as an independent entity. And these are just a few of the considerations that give military commanders the world over nightmares in their sleep.

It now occurs to me that every single infantryman in the W40k has to be completely blind and only able to see with ocular implants. There is no way a guardsman wouldn't go blind the first time they fire a mass lasgun barrage at the enemy. And if that somehow wasn't enough the Tau plasma fire in return would make certain of it. Even if they weren't blind all battlefield visibility in w40k battlefields has to be completely nil, I'm not even honestly certain if ocular implants would do anything to help. You'd have to spot your enemies through radar/ladar/sonar or some other form of detection.

This video confuses me. This is exactly the type of combat krieg is good at and exactly the type that tau forces avoid whenever possible. There is no finesse, clever maneuvering or superior tactics that the tau are known for. They just seem to throw overwhelming quantities of armor at the dubiously inadequate defensive positions.

true on that front and in most areas. the tau do try to avoid that very fight but again for this to be so there must be more surounding it aka story plot that puts the tau at a disavantage stradagistically, strategically etc that forces the tau in to those very fights the krieg regiments like to do. on top of the tau being on very short time to get a objective done so all of there normal set up to pull off such a attack would be thrown out the window etc. or another story plot is that the imperial commanders are attempting to pull off a massive trick of military brilliance by bating the tau in to that fight against one of the krieg regiments as a bate to draw them out of there possitions for a massive coup de gras at a latter date. other wise with out story plot behind this what you and others would say regarding this would stand.

I feel like it would of been a lot more one sided for the tau if they had access to their jump systems. If they had crisis suit teams flying quick strikes on the artillery and to dislodge the defenders.. plus the hammerheads have acccess to bombardment weaponry as well. So, how do Tau really fight in a siege? Do they carpet bomb and artillery strike everything and then mop up with infantry? Do they use auxilliaries and stealth teams to cripple defenses and then advance with heavy armor and big guns? They don't strike me as faction that just throws bodies at a wall until they pile up high enough to climb.

Do you have it set up where Imperial weapons have zero effect on the Tau? Also, are Imperial tanks just part of the landscape? All they seem to do is just sit there until they get blown up. As a matter of tactics, apparently tens of thousands of years in the future, humanity hasn’t heard of indirect fire, as they never seem to employ it while having weapons set up for that purpose. The Farsight Enclave and the Primaris Blood Angels teaming up to defend a Fortress against a combined assault of World Eaters and Ork Waaaagh.
