Inter Miami FC should honor the past in the Tampa Bay Mutiny and the Miami Fusion by naming the supporters sections after them! For example the "Fusion End" or the "Mutiny Army" or something like that, but the main thing is to honor the past for a greater future. IDk just a thought.

The name is terrible. Soccer teams don't need to be named after European clubs. It makes it seem like they intend to be a permanent imitation. I'm ok with United because that is not specific to one team but all the 'Reals" and now this "Inter" need to go. And to me taking the nickname of an Italian club adds insult to injury. I say if you must copy another teams name at least us a Spanish club that would better represent the Hispanic population here.

are you stupid? Inter Miami CF is short for Club Internacional De Futbol Miami. It’s not italian, “Inter” is short for Internacional. it’s name comes from South America. before writing something so idiotic like you just did, do some research.

I get what you're saying completely about the nickname. It is an Inter-Milan copy. But, at least the name is in Spanish. I am not sure if any other team in the MLS has a Spanish name. And, LAFC could certainly have gone that route. So, it's not perfect. But, since the value of MLS teams will continue to rocket, Inter Miami will one day (maybe decades from now) become a household name and future generations won't even be told about Inter Milan. I just watched a video about the Metro Stars. I had forgotten about them. To me, New York (Jersey in this case) have the Red Bulls. It's not like the other three Red Bulls teams are that successful internationally. In fact, I only knew the Austrian Red Bulls. The same will happen with Inter Miami when they find success. It will happen.

There will just be two Inters or maybe now that Miami was bold enough to steal the nickname there will be a dozen inters as others adopt the nickname. There are a ton of Uniteds so it can work. I just think it's stupid.

@@stevenygabbyperez695 Well, we agree that it is not unique. But, what would have been a better name? Miami FC and Miami United are already taken. I am not a fan of mascot names like the Seattle *Sounders*...that really sounds flimsy to me. Most big teams are just named after the city they are from, preceeded by or followed by FC, CF, Real Club, etc.

You guys are ridiculous. In England there's a bunch of Uniteds and Cities. In Spain there's a bunch of Reals. And the MLS wants teams that automatically envision football when someone says their name. It will take time to get used to the name. These guys are trying hopefully the hard days are behind them but unless if you are a billionaire and have the proper connections to get into the league; this is who we got. I wish them the best for our city's sake.
