Logic isn't mind blowing or difficult. If you have a definitive starting point and you decide the length of movement, you can eliminate options rather quickly. This can be broken down quite easily. Starting from the left, he calls to move 3 times. You are either at 2, 3 or 4, eliminating 1 and 5 (there weren't enough moves to get to box 5 and being an odd number of moves with 3 means you can't land back on box 1). Big brain time: If you choose to move right all 3 turns your only option is to move to 3 from 4. If you choose to move right 2 turns then left, you're on box 2 and have to move to box 3 because box 1 was eliminated. If you went right, left then right again, you're on box 2 and can only move to box 3 because 1 was eliminated. Hence everyone being on box 3. The start was decided and so were the movement amounts. Fun exercise though.
