Why can't the bankruptcy court award the intellectual property to the IndieGoGo backers? There have to be dimensioned drawings, bills of material, software, and studio licenses, which only have value to the collector community.

You probably know by now that the company went bust and none of these were ever sold. They were all allocated on a pre-order basis and mostly paid for and were in theory sold out. I was lucky to get my money back! No chance of getting one now unless somebody else would like to market one. Would seem like a good seller in view of the 2001 that were I think snapped up, on paper anyway! Sad ;-(

@@reidchalmer2847 What was really annoying was how long this all dragged on for. They started with a concept product which obviously was of real interest to fans of the film. I went to see the opening premier of the film in London in the 60's. Once the product was past the initial design stage pre ordering was taking place at a special price for early customers. I got my order in straight away as the run was going to be limited world wide. Then we got the monthly updates on production progress and of additional improvements being made by customer requests etc. That all dragged on as the launch date came and went. Still the updates were coming out until just a few weeks when the whole project collapsed. I thought that I had lost my money and abandoned it as a total loss. Then I remembered that paying by bank debit card had some rules for up to 120 days of non receipt of goods. In my case it was 119 days past so I phoned my bank straight away and all my money was refunded within three days!!!! A close call. Yes, it would be a great idea if this thing could be picked up by another RELIABLE company that actually sends you the product that you have payed for! My sympathies goes out to anybody that lost out on this failed venture not to mention the total disappointment of losing the chance to own one of theses impressive and unique replicas. Very nice interactive replica. Although the buttons' feedback sound reminds me too much of the doors sound from Star Trek TOS, and is a bit annoying. Moreover, with today's technology, this device could easily be programmed with speech synthesis and not just replaying prerecorded audio samples from the movie.
