It's my belief that this bike will do very well in Britain as well as across Europe. Due to the price and customizability of this machine. I will myself be looking forward to test riding this new Enfield. Thanks.

I weigh over 100 kgs and I am 190 cms tall. For me the duke 390 feels a lot top heavy and fluttery at high speeds. My interceptor handles my weight well and the centre of gravity rises more towards the middle so it feels extremely flickable for me along with very neutral handling.

A few points after 2 test rides(my bikes: std 500(sold) tbird 350avl(sold) tbird 500) . 1. Narrow seat : this will need to be modified. After just 30km the discomfort begins to creep in 2. Exhaust are too close to the pillion foot pegs. They will burn off your soles. Also the exh are too wide spread. Probably shorter pipes would be better. So wife/gf b aware. 3. The riding position for pillion is cramped(again wife/gf) This was a major issue mentioned in one of the forums as well, where the members wife refused to go on long rides on the int-650. Even though they both had done many tours on the regular enfields. Also pillion tends to get caught in the gap between seat and grab rail. 4. Vibrations have been reduced to a very great extent. & shocks are decent too. 5. Rider foot pegs interfere with the legs. The pegs are too far out and directly under. There is a danger of pants and shoelaces getting caught up in the pegs. Not to mention a chance of your feet getting run over by adjacent vehicles. The professional reviews say that this takes some getting used to, but IMHO that's not going to happen. It'll Be a constant nagging irritation, one that either you will learn to live with or you won't. 6. My legs kept touching the engine and that flimsy black wire guard didn't help. I was wearing denims. But in formals / cargoes / shorts it's gonna be a major issue. Basically the bike is a bit narrow compared to the total width of the engine, and this should have been taken care of in the design stage. In the forums also people were happy with the engine but were very irritated that the overall ergonomics are below par for a bike that's been 3 yrs in the making. Probably a future tbird 650 or Himalayan 650 might be more comfy. Looks like RE intends to go the kawasaki route with a 650 engine as the base for a Variety of bike options. As of now this bike is a miss for me. I had my eye on the chrome int650. But 3.25 on road and then modifications to seat, exh and hunting pillar to post for ergonomic modifications will probably take the final cost into the 4lac range, & will involve a lot of time which is something most of us don't have in today's busy schedule. Many good 2nd hand options available in the 4lac range.

Dear brother as the engine is newly developed, RE advices speed and rpm limits. Until 2000km 80kmph and 3500rpm and uve just pushing the vehicle, twisting the throttle to find out the limits of the vehicle. I didn't mean to say u should not do that for the engine to get set and give proper performance and milage. Being and interceptor owner I advice everyone to stay within the specified limits by RE for the future performance of the vehicle. And chance of milage issues is high if you didn't stay in the limits. I am getting 32.4kmpl in highways and 31.2kmpl in cities.

What is the sweet spot RPM to shift gears during break-in/run-in period? Is 55 km/h is the minimum speed possible on 6th gear?

With rely on speed. Just shift between 4k to 5k rpm

I already buked interceptor.. but am still waiting for dominar 2019. Which i think is a more practical motorcycle which we can take to any terrain with confidence. Hoping that the new dohc engine is more refined.

6:30, yeah man, the international models are having a super light clutch( as I've watched many reviews on KZbin), maybe the wiring is different on the clutch than the international models, or maybe the service and labour isn't that efficient...

Strell I agree with most of your reviews to the extent of 80% or so... but I believe you have ridden the Interceptor from a reviewer point of view, not so much for ownership. One thing I see in most of the reviewers is them expressing their viewpoint as a reviewer, comparisons from one bike's clutch and comparison of lets se foot pegs from another bike's prospective, how is it possible to make a bike from all viewpoints in mind. Each one has a character of its own and it needs to be kept in mind, who is going to be riding that motorcycle is all that matters. An ADV guy will not like the tourer and the tourer will not like the track bike. Comparisons are good.. but dont leave the target audience out of the review.

Great review as usual. One question though, I am confused between Interceptor and Dominar Bs6, my height is 5'11 and my weight is 106 kgs and my wife would be around 60 kgs and 5'8. I enjoy riding a fast bike, but I don't usually tour more than 200 kms. And most of the time I would be riding with a pillion, and sometimes alone. Mainly my rides will comprise of 60 percent city and 40 percent Highway. I am loving both the bikes but really confused which will be a better buy for me. Any suggestions?

Did you have a false neutral issue with the gt650 as well or only with the interceptor? Also, you didn't mention any issues with the tires on the gt650, were the tires on the interceptor new by any chance because the pirelli sport demons are used on many classic triumphs as well and are recognized as a decent tire.

With my 1200km on GT, I faced false neutrals 2 times. I didn't mention it because i felt it could be my mistake. The grip of tyre depends on the tyre width. The tyre width of triumph motorcycles are way bigger than 650s. I hope that could be a reason.

I got a lot of false neutrals on the Thunderbird 350X between 1st and 2nd gears. Is this an issue with other RE bikes as well?

Between 1st and 2nd you're not getting false neutrals. The Neutral is actually between 1 & 2. You're simply not shifting properly. Be more deliberate with your shifts.

It goes to neutral but the neutral indicator doesn't come on. That's why I thought it might be a false neutral. Maybe it's an issue with the electricals

@@YogeshM-sk5mp probably. Get your electricals checked. False Neutrals are Neutrals that occur when there is no possibility of a Neutral. For example, between 3rd & 4th.

Hello @strell. Nice video review regarding both interceptor and continental GT 650. I have had both bikes for a test ride and I'm getting both of them for me and my brother. MY VIEW/OPINION During the test ride j noticed about the foot pegs interfere my legs when the bike is in standstill my height is 179cms (5ft 11inches). Except from that the performance is good enough and power delivery during all gear shifts was very good. Also I noticed there is an issue with fuel gauge of not showing the fuel level properly. Regarding the instrument cluster I feel like it's the most simple for the royal Enfield twins I know you need all tech and everything for other motorcycles but sometimes all you need is just cruise on the motorways with a full tank of fuel 😄. Having simple dash is better than having lot of tech loaded on the screen/display of the motorcycle. What's the next video coming up on the channel

The clutch is tight. Response. For me the clutch is just perfect. I rode it twice and it was so sweet for me. Basically these things are very subjective. You have to, have to ride it yourself to judge it properly. Seeing a review, calculating these inferences is not right at all. Like, Faisal Khan drove Innova and said in his video, The steering is Soopper Dooper heavvyy oh my God. I have an Innova and I love its steering. Pure hydraulic and direct.

This bike is classic retro and very different from other RE bikes. I did 120kmph on highway. I was fully surprised by it. It is way different from classic 500. If you don't see the console meter you can't predict the speed. It runs very sticky to road because of wieght. Ktm390 is light weight give you feel of high speed. I like the sitting position but foot rest scratched my legs. It is Must ride bike if your budget is 3Lakh

Himalayan is the most comfortable Royal Enfield by far. It's only issue is the gear ratios. The Interceptor is not as comfortable but the gear ratio is pretty good.

@@ashishkumarsharma2792 Yup. I love my Himalayan but I end up riding on 1st gear a lot in the City. To make matters worse, the second gear is poor. Lacks torque and stalls too easily. Third and Fourth on the Himalayan are pretty sweet though but largely useless in the city.

Strell, great video bro! The footpeg issue you faced on the Interceptor, do you find the same issue on Continental GT as well? If not, will changing the footpeg kit on the Interceptor with that of Continental GT will solve the issue?

So pls Try to make a video after bajaj launches it. Interceptor is a very gud bike. No doubt abt it. But if u luk at it in a touring perspective it lacks a few things. Like the seats. low tank capacity. And i dont think the pillion rider will appreciate touring on this. Whereas the domis have more options to attach tons of touring accessories. And i bet they will perform better than interceptors on offroads. Waiting for ur touring review.....

Dominor is good affordable bike but not that much comparable to Japanese and also reliability issues quality issues go for 650 interceptor, don't compare d400 with interceptor because it's twin cyl bike,in touring perspective interceptor is better than d400

Unless you're talking about someone crashing into you with a Triumph Tiger, I'd say no. Tigers (the animal) are quite rare in India and never seen near roads really.
