In terms of the ride height. The difference is purely because conti GT preload is set from factory on the third notch which is 5mm per notch ie 15mm. The Interceptor is set from factory on 0, the lowest preload setting. So they are basically the same height if you set them the same. In terms of weigh, its all about the parts fitted on. The Interceptor has a center stand as standard and slightly bigger tank You will need to ride both. The handebar position on both are pretty comfortable. The looks you prefer will probably be on par with making the decision. The foot peg position can be the one that makes or break your decision. I found the foot peg on the interceptor to be in the way when I stop at the lights as they are a little more forward and right over my legs while the GT is behind but still comfortable.

Motorcycling tip--stay off that center part of the lane. That is where oil has accumulated over millions of vehicles passing through over million of miles. Especially when wet, this can be a death trap for bikers attempting to stop in a panic. Stay to the right of the dark strip when traveling a two lane road heading in the same direction as other traffic and coming up on a car that you are passing so he/she can see you in the side view mirror as well as hear your engine--this is for the USA biker. Never travelled on British roads but the same theme should pertain.--Mke

Hi everybody and Jack, I have a continental GT euro had mine for 3yrs now just had its first MOT no problems ,the bike has been reliable great to ride comfortable even for longer rides .Went from Crewe to LLangollen,Betwys y coed,LLandudno and then home again ,the bike was at home on all the types of road I rode .The only thing on the GT i would recommend altering is the mirrors change to bar end mirrors from standard mirrors much better for the GT,great review by the way

Thank you Ken. I know those roads well. I regularly ride to Anglesey and take those roads for a change every now and then. Yes the RE’s are great bikes 👍

Love riding it to to work. Love riding it down south to the best beaches in Goa. Love that it's loved and gets the attention from kids and old folks alike. Barely anyone hates my Interceptor, well except for me mum.

Hmmm I guess I’ll have to make my way to Maverick Motors in Missoula MT to sit on them both . Thanks for the information . I have the halcyon gray ( powder blue ) classic 350 , and absolutely love it for around town and short trips but am thinking of the 650 for the longer jaunts

My dealer has informed me that the full lineup of REs will arrive in approximately 3 weeks and promises to call when one is set up for me to try. Very interested in the 350s as city bikes and 650s to compare with my T20 for no other reason than curiosity. By the way I managed to cringe every time you cornered the GT on the wet roads, thanks for jump starting me with your video this morning.

I wanted a caf Racer and thought the Triumph version silly money, so have the Conti GT 650. with performance and suspension upgrades, it's a ripper 🙂

I rode both of these bikes extensively when Royal Enfield was touring the U.S. last year 2023 promoting their bikes. you are right about one thing the intercepter being more straight up like Bonneville was boring with a capital B. I bought the Continental GT and am happy that I did. In the year that Ive had it Ive upgraded the exhaust, headers air filter, tires and appearance its putting out a little over 50 horses sounds better than sex ,and handles like a skinny nymphomaniac . and to think I was going to buy a used Triumph. glad I did not. Oh and the stares and compliments only confirm that I made the right decision.
