Amazing to see a InterCity livery back on the Mainline, I can say this looks much better than alot of the 80s Sleaze Metalheads that would put Makeup on every Morning lol!

Love the ghost whirling of 81-87's whilst visiting Gran at Preston via Preston Rail Station in the late 70's - mid 80's (unfortunately Gran dying afterwards)

How did they get the DVT to communicate with the class 87 bearing in mind it's a tap changer locomotive? Or did they swap out the old system for something that works with the DVT?
@TrainPlaneHub2 жыл бұрын
Class 87’s always used to run with DVT’s throughout the 90’s. Intercity & Virgin Trains. Was always class 86, 87 or 90 with a rake of mk2 or mk3 coaches and a DVT.

What coaches are these Mk3's (from an old HST Class 43 125 set) or Mk3a's (with buffers)? Also who owns the coaches.. they aren't listed on the LSL wikipedia - thanks!
@TrainPlaneHub2 жыл бұрын
They are ex Greater Anglia coaches, that used to run between London & Norwich
@wapphigh52502 жыл бұрын

HAS THAT CLASS 82 LOCO BEEN CONVERTED FROM ELECTRIC TO DIESEL DOES ANYONE KNOW?
@TrainPlaneHub3 жыл бұрын
CLASS 82 IS THE DVT. ITS A BREAK VAN, NO POWER TO IT WHAT SO EVER. THE POWER IS SUPPLIED BY THE CLASS 87

I have no interest in the Railways of today, unless of course, it's an 87 with Mk3's (or Mk2's for that matter!) I wish I could turn the clock back to the good old 80's!!
@peterwhitaker40383 жыл бұрын
great to see this but can't help feeling how nobody building Locos then thought about streamline i mean that 87 at speed must have been like a brick thrown through the air with it's solid front.
@gs4252 жыл бұрын
they do 110, and similar to brick front early 3 series and cortinas of the time at similar speed
