Although it wasn't that long ago these trains are so evocative of my childhood - memories of boarding them at Euston, the smell of the diesel and that ear-piercing noise they'd make when moving. The new trains are nicer but they're just not as memorable...

Its a real shame that National Express East Coast could not have adapted this livery for its high speed trains - oh well I suppose silver and white is better than nothing! I remember when all of the Intercity East Coast fleet carried the 'Executive Livery'
