Madam Can you please tell difference between then and than and when to use it.? thanks. Madam.
@oliverelias13568 жыл бұрын
The diference between then and than. Then is use for an action in the sentence who will happen or we can speak of it in the present, and than it is like a comparation between 2 things. Example of each word. Then. Then, will you go to the teather? Then, will we meet tomorrow ? Then, we use an expresion Than. My brother is better THAN me. U.S.A is better THAN others countries in Rio 2016 Novel's James Jhonson is better THAN novel's Alice Couper. Do you understand? than it is a comparation between two things, words, people etc etc. :) nice day n.n

By the way do you know about understand and understood. Check out my above comment about understood sentence it is correct ?
@roscianyt8 жыл бұрын
Then/than: The adverb "then" conveys time, while the conjunction "than" is used for comparison. Examples: We left the party and then went home. We would rather go home than stay at the party. It’s better is have a ugly car than no car at all.

+Azis Nader I don't know what your problem is brother, neither do I know what difficulties you have gone through in your life but this certainly isn't the place to remove your frustration and anger by insulting someone for no reason. That's naive

You've miss used the word "naive."
@Ifzirzurz8 жыл бұрын
+Mark Rios I don't need English lessons from you, pal
@roscianyt8 жыл бұрын
Apparently, you do. But I am sorry that you don't understand simple words such as naive. It's always funny that the ones who claim you know it all are the ones who know nothing. You are the phenomenal one right? By the way, you may be many things, but my "pal" never. All my pals understand the meaning of "naive". Here let me help you, naive means having or showing a lack of experience or knowledge, innocent or simple. Innocent or simple? Hey, that fits you. I guess you're naive.

Yeah, the difference between the King's English and American English. So many words are different that mean the same thing. I think they say "petrol" so maybe they call it a "petrol station?" A funny one is they call a vacuum cleaner a hoover.

Well, your first sentence has a grammar error. It seems that you did not have a car accident. You did not hit anything. So how can you have a "near miss"? You mean you had a "near hit." You almost hit something, but you didn't hit it. It was a near hit. "Near hit" is the correct phrase. And I never heard of "jammy bastard" as you state it's slang so why teach it?
