A quartz movement finished to the highest Swiss standard. Absolutely love it!

We need to forward this video to all the people who say Quartz movements in high-end watches are a waste of money. The TAG Kirium has a very complex Quartz Movement with 31 jewels and great finishing. I'm proud to wear a Quartz movement when it's to this level.

I really like these hybrids when everything you can keep from a mechanical movement is still there, just the regulating part goes electronic or the failure-prone part (hairspring) is mimiced by something sturdier. Best of both worlds, tradition and craft in marriage with a bit of inovation.

Very cool but I feel stupid as I could have got these in stainless for 300-400$ 15-20yrs ago .& Look at the oyster quartz prices in 2023..😮😊

Hi Kalle, glad you're showing us an oyster quartz, happy you don't just show autos and mechanicals cheers mate. Dave from UK Wigan. They as in Rolex do make a lovely and robust movement.

can you service it to show all the parts and how does it run and keep time

Hi Kalle! Were these made to counter act the quartz crisis by Rolex at the time? Thanks again! 👍

These came out in the early 70's when quartz was seen as high luxury and the greatest advance in watchmaking. The cheaper quartz movements came out over the years, but the Oysterquartz was Rolex's only quartz movement. Discontinued in 2001.

Can you work on an oysterquartz, or is that only rolex spareparts ?.

Taking some roger smith elements in the two dimensions of the escapement wheel, but for a quartz and for a pallet fork. Crazy thing

Although these watches still need synthetic oil for maintenance, they're great for passing through Low Emission Zones thanks to the hybrid technology. Rolex was far ahead in terms of climate awareness 😁

does this watch have mainspring?

I almost find it sad that it’s a watch really needing to be an automatic.

Nothing wrong with quartz, especially when cool and unusual like this. open your mind.

Please make a new more relaxing and sophisticated video intro and outro! I love your knowledge, but the rocking intro and outro is not a good match for you. It sounds like a learn how to drive 18 wheelers jig. Please some classical or jazz.
