We see Border Patrol very often retaining young, Mexican men (or other Latin appearing young males) along the side of the road. But we are almost certainly talking about a lot of people who have passed through multiple safe and peaceful countries (relative to their own) on their way to the United States. What explanation is there for that? other than that they were always only ever headed for the United States. This isn't a unique situation: The UK actually had a system in place within Syrian refugee camps, to identify refugees, and help them apply to enter the uk as refugees/ asylum seekers. Despite this, hundreds still try to get into that country from Syria illegally every year since the war there began. Sadly many end up dead as the seas around Britain are not to be messed with in small boats. In making the attempt they pass right across the European continent, which up until the start of the war in Ukraine, was almost totally peaceful and about as safe as anywhere on the planet can be.
