rather than Romanticism it think is as practical way of serving the humanity/god by working together or sewa (volunteering for common good) irrespective of caste/ gender/ age/ language/ religion since in sikhism community/sangat is supreme and prayers/reciting gods hymans/simran while doing the sewa/community work has more power/success rate of one's wishes getting hrd by the god. food is just a universal/basic right of everyone but the service can be anything as per local community need like road building, school construction, etc. which is required/serve for whole community irrespective of cast/religion.
