Interference Between Ball Joint Boot And Brake Rotor

Disregard the rusty bottom. thats 340,000mi of reliable car just showing some age.
Greasing up my 2003 Ion Sedan and i noticed the ball joint boot touches the inside of the rotor when its full of grease. What Engineer saw that and thought it was a good idea. anyway maybe thats why i have to replace that boot more often than the tie rods or sway bar links.
