Great looking result. The new floor mats really a great finishing touch. How does this model compare to your newer LS, is there more or less wind noise out of the A pillar vs your newer LS?? The noise is very disappointing. My LS is great except for the front control arm. Not sure if I should upgrade to a 600hl. In Australia 2nd LS prices are rather overpriced. Pls keeping the videos coming gives me something to watch during crazy lockdowns.

Thank you for your comment and the compliment! I think I’ll do a more in depth comparison to my newer LS in a future video BUT sort of a summary, I drove my newer LS to work today after driving the 2007 for a few weeks straight and the road noise in general is more well controlled in the 2017 however my 2017 has different tires, it has Dunlop tires which might be a difference in road noise to the cabin however the wind noise is about the same. The overall feel and difference, I think the 2007 is more comfortable as far as intrusive bumps but the 2007 has air suspension, I didn’t opt to remove it, I actually replaced and repaired components to the system so the air ride is functioning like new. My 2017 wasn’t spec’d with air ride so it’s well controlled as in less rolling to the ride but you do feel a little more harshness in the 2017. I also think the seats are a little more supportive in my 2017, they are a slightly different design and the 2007 might feel less supportive due to age and wear but the 2007 feels like that comfortable worn out chair some have at home, the 2017 feels very supportive and more revitalizing the 2007 feels like I want to take a nap. I hope that makes sense. My feelings on the 600hl, I did look into them because there are more of those available with the executive rear seat package. However I was really concerned with everything else piled on as far as cost of ownership that the inclusion of the aging hybrid battery would be one additional cost that I really didn’t want to take on. I think overall the value for money the LS600hL is slightly nicer but just not worth the price difference in the end if there is a need to deal with the hybrid battery. As for the control arms, I’m pretty sure at some point in time I’ll need to get those, the dealer says mine look good for now I’d probably opt for the OEM since the originals lasted over 100,000 miles hopefully I’ll get another 100,000 miles. Thank you again for your interaction. I wish you all well there in Australia, it seems pretty tense over there from what I’ve seen on the news.

Nice 460 do you happen to have the link for those plush carpet mats

I am not sure about a link but I have the part number for the ones for my car. PT919-50073-01 that is I believe for that specific color. If you want a different color you may have to call your parts department. I would recommend longo lexus parts online. They are listed for about $50 off.

Where did you buy the dash and sticky replacement brother ?

I have a follow up video breaking down repairs to the car but I bought all new parts at Longo Lexus. If you go to their website and search for the part it is quite a lot cheaper than if you call in to get a price. Their online parts are much cheaper.

Friend, where did you buy this car? Can you tell me why I can't meet a car with so few kilometers?

Thank you for your comment, I found this car using auto trader. I am not sure where you are from but there are a lot with lower miles here.

Ihave the exact same interior and it thought my service advisor was misinformed telling me it was about 1500 to replace the dash given that it wasn’t covered by the ZLZ PROGRAM, 1500 is not a lot in the grand scheme of things as dashes OEM NEW FOR OTHER MANUFACTURERS go easily north for 2K just for the part alone

Clean outside body, I need to get mine ceramic with clay bar... what mileage is on that one? I never was a fan for the grey wood grain.. but other than that, clean LS. CHEERS!

Which interior pieces did you end up replacing, and much was the cost? You purchased them from Lexus?
@alexsystems2001

Thank you for your comment! The glove box lid and lower dash (under steering wheel) as well as around the center console were replaced under the ZLZ warranty BUT the dash itself and the 4 door panels as well as the center console lid were not covered under that. So I bought a new dash from Longo Lexus, that was I think about $1,100 and two new front door panels they were about $1,200 each then I bought two used but nearly new rear door panels from an LS600hL off ebay for $100 each they match perfectly except there is more leather stuff on those door panels which matches the more luxurious back seat anyways. I installed all the door panels myself but the dash I took advantage of some of the ZLZ labor for the glove box, center console, and lower panel so the dash replacement parts AND labor came to about $1,900 total for a new dash installed. Yes I purchased the new stuff from Lexus. I would recommend going to Longo Lexus parts website they have crazy discounts from other dealers. If you live near Longo. Don’t walk in and try to get a discount, their discounts are online only go to their website. I hope that helps. I’m going to do a video soon about the cost of everything I’ve had to do so far on the car. I’ve gotten everything I think I need done, done on it and I’ve put about 15,000 miles on the car I’ve just been so busy I haven’t had time to make an update video.

@@alexsystems2001 Thanks so much! I nearly bought the LS back in 08, when they were HEAVILY discounted due to the market collapse, and they were hard up to sell cars. Ultimately didn't, and here I am in 2021 looking at them again. I'll be subscribing and keeping an eye out for your videos. Keep it up!

@@TomDang thank you! the 2007-2012 from my understanding were all affected by potentially melting interior panels, so if you do find one see if it’s been taken care of. Lexus has a database of all service records done on the cars nationwide. For example on this LS I can go to my Lexus account and see every service record since new. From my understanding they fixed the melty parts from 2013 onward. If you have the patience and the time the 2007-2012 isn’t a bad car but there are a couple other abnormal things to look out for, the brake actuators sometimes fail and the mark levinson amplifier can go out too. Obviously anything can go out but you don’t normally plan for a stereo amplifier to quit working (the mark levinson is a worth while stereo system) and I’ve had Mercedes with 300,000 miles with the original ABS pump so that’s a bit abnormal. Also there are some firmware updates to both the ECM and the TCM. Supposedly one affected 2007-2012 and the other affected the early 2007-2008 models. One of them would fix a bit of starving of the engine of power because it wouldn’t calculate the parameters correctly to compensate for lean engine knock and you would feel like a surging and very very slight hesitation under acceleration that is the ECM update and the TCM transmission update I guess the early LS’s had a feature that it would go into neutral at a stop (or something like that) and it took longer than expected to go back into gear when letting off the brake pedal so you’d feel a little bump when letting off the brake pedal. The TCM update did something to fix that and my car doesn’t do that anymore. Both of those were not done on my car so I had to pay the dealer to flash both of those control modules and the issues went away. I’ve done other things like the valve cover gaskets, front brakes, transmission filter/fluid replacement, front air struts etc but those are just normal catching up on maintenance you’ll probably have to do with any other car. The abnormal stuff was related to the 2007-2012 years and if you can get a good deal it might be worth it but it can get expensive.

@@alexsystems2001 oh man, thanks for the heads up on that ECM and TCM. I am fairly aware of the other things, including checking out the cars service history in the Lexus driver's site. I like to do aftermarket audio, and figure it I do find a car with the ML, and it goes out, I can always do my own so 8 at that point. Though I did read that some places repair the amps for a reasonable price since it's such a common failure.
