Paring down! I am always refining, but I am becoming more deliberate about my 'one in-one out' rule...tapping in to my minimalist side. I am not getting younger, and I don't want too many things for my kids to deal with when I'm gone.

Beautiful home! I am almost 67 years old, and I've always done this! It's the only way to have that 'collected look' that everyone is talking about! But, it can't be rushed! I love that you are giving yourself time to find the right pieces. That is what makes the thrill of the hunt!

For years I was happy to keep a schedule to clean and organize the house, but then we moved and all the chaos of boxes, and the fact that nothing seems to fit the same in a different floor plan, made me lose my energy, then I fell and broke my wrist. Last year was one thing after another. Just this past week I finally felt like organizing some areas, and soon I will have to let go of stuff that doesn't fit here. I love the color schemes you shows here, so inspiring! Our walls are white with some vague hint of pale pink, which you only notice when you come from the halls, which has a more yellowy white. - I'm thinking I'd love to paint the doors as you did, I think it will make the rooms look less stark. I used to have in the past house a nice sand color for the walls and I miss that, but I think it is more budget friendly to do the doors lol - I love this video!

I already do….the 5 Daily Goals, every day. I feel like that’s how I stay on top of my house. Plus….weekly deep clean (sanitize). Our home is decorated with White, Tan, Dk Espresso Brown & Green scattered slightly. So… I decorate with Earth Tones as well!!! Thank you for sharing your Thrifting inspirations!!! Hi our beautiful Tasha…I loved this. I kept saying after Christmas I was going to take one day and do nothing. I cannot do that. I have to do the things you talked about..looking RX… at the floors..usually need some kind of help, make the bed, etc etc.then do a big task. Today I took down most of my more Christmas things , but left some wintery things out. It has been snowing and so cold I need things that make the house feel warm and inviting. I cannot wait to see all of your plans. I love to set goals and plan things to do in our home. Thanks Tasha for great ideas and plans. ❤❤❤

Hi Rita! Yes it's so hard to do nothing. Maybe for a bit but after a whole day I get too restless. Putting away the Christmas stuff was and a big task here too but I had to do it very quickly since my little girl's birthday party was being held here the next weekend. It was a fast turnover! We finally have snow here as of last night. We hardly ever get much snow here in central North Carolina and for the past few years we haven't gotten any.

I really love you views and style. I went thrifting this morning and tried your advise on looking at shapes and not the color. Picked a shape I liked. I went to Lows and got a textured spray paint and going to try it on a vase. I live in Ca and the winds are crazy!! When it dies down I going to paint it and mud it up!

I LOVE your style! ❤ I love thrifting and I will also be looking for more neutral items for our house. We are definitely getting rid of "stuff"! We have already started, I have been going through all the junk in the basement since it got cold (Ohio) and I have a HUGE pile ready to go! But still sorting through everything. I'm just tired of having it sitting in the basement. The basement is just storage for us, and hopefully getting rid of things will enable us to use our basement for maybe a family room, or a workout room. The hard part is getting my husband on board. He is a keeper. He wants to keep everything. On top of that, both of his parents are gone, and to him, it's a way to remember them. When an item is not remembering someone, it's remembering the item that maybe was a favorite or sentimental somehow. So not only do we have our own stuff to deal with, we have my in-laws things too. It's very overwhelming. He has been helping sort, but we'll see how much he is willing to get rid of. 🤞😉

We will be moving into a 55+ community cottage we are having built in May, so I am trying to think about our new decorating style. Since we FB Marketplace-d, consigned, donated, or trashed so much of what we had in the house we sold, we are starting from (almost) square one. LOVE your home!!! I realize it is curated, and you have done a lot of work to make it so beautiful. But something I could do is have our walls the same color as yours - fresh & clean, but warm & cozy. Oh I’m so excited about your new place! I do LOVE our wall color. It's called "Pure White" by Sherwin Williams. IMO, it's the perfect shade without leaning one way or the other. Recently I have also discovered two more shades I really like. Our cabinets are Accessible Beige and I painted my front door Ethereal Mood (both also SW colors). Thanks for watching!!

Sounds like we are in the same brainwave!! My cleaning schedule is the same with the 5 tasks a day and one big thing, except I schedule “zones” for my big thing. Such as Mondays are kitchen days, Tuesdays are living room/family room, Wednesday are bedrooms, ect… so I do one big thing in each zone but I love your idea of just scheduling one big thing in general because there’s times I don’t get to the required tasks because it’s not the “day”!!! Thank you for the info I’ll be switching over to the exact thing you are!!! Also same here with decorating, I’ve slowly started thrifting “warm earthy” tones and the textures and my family was shocked at how cozy our home is turning. My husband is now asking me to search for things in certain areas to make them cozy and telling me his vision so we can be on the hunt 😂!!! Love it so much!!!! Love all the inspiration! Thank you! I'm in central North Carolina in Durham and I go into a variety of thrift shops. Many of them are Goodwills which are obviously a chain, but a couple of them are ones that are local to our area like Trosa and Durham Rescue Mission. ☺️

I noticed you paint all your doors without removing them, how do you finish the inside edges of the doors? Do they ever stick? Can you show us?

Yes, I painted the swinging edge, though not the inside hinge edge since you'd never see it. All I do is leave the doors cracked for long enough for the edge to dry. It helps that the paint that I used was specifically a paint for doors (from Sherwin-Williams) so it dries super fast so that you can get back to using them. No sticking issues yet, although I guess now that you mention it if you repaint enough times it might start to stick since each layer is making it a little bit tighter of a fit 🤔

Hmm. I haven't thought too much about it yet honestly. Eventually we will remodel the kitchen in earnest rather than the DIYs we have done. But that's not for years and so I haven't thought about changing out the sink until then.

I love watching your channel. Your daily cleaning schedule is great. I struggle knowing what my style is....I love to thrift. I have a hard time not bringing a 'good' deal home. I love some of the look of coastal (baskets), light blue's and greens' but not too much. I also love some cottages feel things- pottery pieces, dishes. We have black windows in our entire home that is a cape cod open feel- makes it feel a little modern. I have a few Transistional light fixtures. I also like tans, off whites. Any advice? How do I bring everything together? :)

Thank you! Gosh it sounds like you have a great style already. A "coastal cottage" vibe but with the modern fixtures and windows sounds lovely. Repeating the blue and green colors that you mentioned throughout your space but also repeating them in various shades, (so not just the exact same shade of pale blue for instance but also darker shades of blue-- and the same for green) could really elevate the look. And I've noticed that some coastal accents are a big trend that is upcoming for 2025. So it sounds to me like you're right on cue ☺️

I am so confused on home decor style. I watch a channel that says they are English country, one that is Cottage Core, another that is Vintage and r=then you who is more Modern style..I see the same pieces in all of them, pottery pieces, wood bowls, baskets, neutral colour palette etc..very confusing.

Yes the larger overarching style called "transitional" which is what I consider my style (or at least my goal!) encompasses many of these elements. Transitional is a mixture of modern and traditional styles, and usually--especially since vintage items are so trendy--plenty of vintage items are featured. I talk about "modern charm" in this video as one particular facet of transitional design that I want to focus on especially. Then "cottage core" is essentially a revitalizing of English country. I can't see where they're any different. I think they're both cultivating a cozy home with plenty of charm and a focus on heirlooms and comfortable heritage style pieces. It could be transitional but may lean more traditional. I hope that helps!! ☺️
