Interior Light Not Working - FIX! | VW T5 T6, Caddy, Crafter

Interior courtesy light fix for a VW T5, T6, Caddy and Crafter. This should also work on many other vehicles as they tend to work in the same way.
I take the light out repair it and refit. It's a nice easy job and only takes about 15 minutes.

Thanks Graham I was fitting insulation in my Kombi pulled light out brass bit pulled out. Looking at your video was very helpful took light apart and took out my other light to see how that worked took ages to work out how to put the stange shaped brass piece that holds the bulb as that had been ripped out. Did it eventually over the moon to have done it. Thanks again.

Hi Graham, I have T5, looks like it's similar to yours, thanks for the video. I have a query, at 4.43 I can see that the light setting is on the middle section ( when the door is open it activates the light!). But your light wasn't on and the door is open. I'm currently scratching my head trying to get the light to turn on when you open the side door, am I right in thinking it's not meant to!?

Hi Charles, when the door is opened the light turns on, but will switch off after 5 mins or so to save the battery. In the video I'd had the door open for longer than that, hence why it's not activated in that position. Hope that helps.

@@charlesanderson3525 hi, I have the same issue, door open but no light and I’m not sure if the rear one works of the back door or both back and front. So I’m looking for the switch for the rear light. If I find out where it is I’ll post it here.

my rear light on my transporter turns on on the switch but only comes on when i open the offside rear barn door, it doesnt come on with the sliding door or the near side rear barn door, not sure where the switches are

Hello dear I have a problem with interior light in my caddy, it is staying on won't turn off when I am driving and the doors are closed also there is no doors ajar light at dashboard !! Can you please any suggestions, advice

I currently having an issue where the rear door light doesn’t come on when the door is opened but the middle does. Does anyone know if both lights should come on when the side door is opened or if the rear light only comes on when the back doors are opened. Both light units work ok so it’s a wiring or door switch issue.

Literally pulling hair out, my caddy (12 plate) rear interior light turns on with unlock, turns off with lock but once turned on it stays on and won't go out?!?!?! You can put it to off position, to stay on position but when you leave it to the middle position, it won't turn off.....Please someone help me🙈🤣
