A quick question. Into your devices you have a type of connector, for example the positive wire that runs in and then out of the led light is connected by some connector. What would be the name for that ha. Many many thanks and great simple video!
@kiravans58742 жыл бұрын
That's just a simple crimp on cable connector with the two live going in to one and connecting to the live from the light.

The wire gauge will be interesting. I would like to use a LI battery and a solar panel mounted at the rear of my roof rack as they don't weigh much.

When selecting a fuse, do you have to add up the ampage of each led in the series? Or just use the lowest rated ampage? Thanks.
@kiravans58742 жыл бұрын
Add up the watts of all your lights you've wired in parallel (never in series) on the circuit to be fused, divide that figure by 12 (if it's a 12v battery you're using) and that's the amp draw so a fuse of 25% more than that figure would be sufficient. Always go up to the next nearest fuse size rather than down.

When you turn the light switch off, does it reset all lights to off ? i.e. when the switch is turned on again, does every individual light have to be touched again to turn on?
@kiravans58742 жыл бұрын
Thank you,The default is off. If you turn them on with a switch they remain off until they are touched, if you turn them off at the switch whilst on they will be off next time the switch is turned on.

great video! do you need specific 12v light fittings or can i simply put in 12v led bulbs into any old househld light fitting i install? cheers!
@kiravans58743 жыл бұрын
Hi Dougie, With wiring as we are not installers this area isn't something we can really advise on. Other than items we sell and the intended installation for these we have to be careful to not advise outside of this especially when wiring and electrics are concerned. We have not had experience with the bulbs from these in any other light fitting and so really cannot answer this specifically Im afraid, apologies for this.

Hi great video got a question when exchanging cargo lights on VW T6 for dimatec lights on van wire loom its got 3 cables how should I wire this up cheers for any advice
@kiravans58743 жыл бұрын
The original VW courtesy lights have a more complex arrangement of terminals built into them to allow for the time delay when doors are closed etc. You can wire aftermarket lights in but you're best searching the forums for details as we have never done it.

The connector to crimp 3 wires for the light- is it an ordinary butt connector with 2 wires going in one end and one the other?
@kiravans58743 жыл бұрын
Yes it is fine to have two wires going in one end and a single wire coming out the other. It is worth twisting the two copper wires together before inserting into the butt connector.

Thank you, but I have to make a small criticism on the way this is edited. Why pan out to a long shot of you when showing is the wiring in the distribution board. Its really frustrating as I try to pause to see the circuitry. You look great, but we need more close ups of the circuit. We don't need a long shot to heat you. This made the video unclear.
