I seen in your video that you had the "dots" used for 3D scanning. What brand is that?

The vast majority of EV conversion shops would NOT bother with this kind of cosmetic restoration. They would either leave it or tell the customer to take it to another shop. You're a good man.

I've used the Foxwell scanner for my BMW for years. Great value for the money. The repairs you made to the door panels and dashboard were amazing. For a guy who didn't do this stuff for a living, you do amazing work. Pat yourself on the back.

My wife and i were just looking up fixes for her Camry this morning, we decided on an overlay just because well its a 07 Camry 🤣🤣

Yeah I did the same for my 09 Camry haha. I found a company that makes overlays customized for different models. I wish I could remember the company. I’ve had it for years and no complaints!

The 981 and 991 models had this issue with the door cards separating due to the glue used from the factory. I had to have my 981 Cayman's driver side replaced by Porsche due to this separation which is where I learned about the issue. Porsche wanted $2800 to replace the door card but I got them to pro rate it due to it being a design issue (I was out of warranty hence why it still cost to fix). Supposedly they changed vendors for the glue used.

Hey just FYI, the OBD2 port wasn't standardized and mandated until 1996 model years! But GM did put their connector in a similar area prior to that!

In most automotive plastic parts you can find an ingraving which informs you of the exact plastic material. For example PP GF30 = Polypropylene with 30% Glass Fibre

OBD2 was standard/required on all US cars starting in 1996. EuropeOBD in 2001 for gas, and 2003 for diesel.

FYI those plastic weld clips are meant to be bent and metal fatigued off, not clipped off. Just bend them forward and back a few times and they break off down at the base.

One thing to cover when advertising obd2 scanners. What other systems can it scan? Airbags, abs, other modern tech. A $10 Bluetooth scanner connected to the torque app will do what you showed. But can't do the more advanced codes.

You did the 3d scans and some viewers did some modeling for you, but you never talked about how you will make the body panels. I'm really curious how accurate/precision body panels can be made in a home garage. What's the plan?

That z dash amazed me. I truly thought it would have some type of odd edge from the board and clamps not contouring to that shape. Does the factory glue fail from heat, or is it not applied as well on the edges, do you think? My other favorite thing is finding air bags deployed and clean titles.

@@eslmatt811 Thanks. With my current car project, I took a lot of pictures. Wished I had taken more, maybe with note cards and arrows. (and bagging nut and bolt sections more carefully) Numbered clothes pins for the connectors was something I wish I had done. The sharpie and tape numbers I used rubbed off.
