G'Day my Lovely, Having a lovely time watching this delightful video while enjoying my breakfast (8.25 AM here in OZ). I love all of your earring designs but this one just stands out. The colours of the fancy stones and your choice of seed beads colours are beautiful and complement each other so well. They so classic in their design and one can imagine how stunning they would set off that little black dress for a night out on the town. My favourite being the green ones are simply gorgeous. I'm normally a blue girl but the colour green is so mystical particularly when it has a depth to it. Even though there are two different shaped stones used they balance each other so well that gives a good symmetry to the piece. Just love them !!!!!!. The idea of using pearls instead of bicones is a great idea, you know me and pearls go hand in hand, simply fantastic and it nice to know that there is another who adores pearls as well. If I don't get a chance before the Thursday..... "Happy Thanks Giving" and like last year I will celebrate along with you, on Friday (25th) as that will be your 24th. Last year I celebrated by having my small Pavlova (if memory serves me well I think that I called "Pavlova Day") and will be thinking of you and your family sitting around with all the trimmings and celebrating through giving thanks. I will have a special reason this year to give thanks for finishing my hard adventure last Friday (18th here). I will also be giving thanks for the wonderful Master of the beads and her kind thoughts and strength that are sent through the airwaves. Thank you. I believe that the following day is called Black Friday and is a day of great spending... the busiest shopping day of the year. Enjoy my lovely but remember to wear flat comfortable shoes, take several coffee breaks and do us all proud (who can't be there)......SPEND WELL and buy lots!!!!!!!!!!!!. Hope that you also enjoy the rest of the long weekend. I will send you an Email within the next day or two. I hope that this little "semi- novel" will brighten your day and I am looking forward to seeing what you have in mind to do next. Nearly forgot, I have started to bead again..YA (missed it so much). I started a bead Embroidered Cuff and I am now halfway through and hope to have it finished soon. Not sure about it and when I have finished I will let you see it. Take care of yourself and I hope that the nasty cold has passed. And so my little polar bear take care and once again "Happy Thanksgiving" Blessings XXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOO

Chris, I have tears in my eyes!!! I am so glad you are done with your "hard adventure" and have come out beading LOL Seriously though, I'm thrilled to see a novel from you again my sweet friend! You touch me with your kindness and lovely thoughts. We will have a special day this week and knowing you are doing well makes it even more special!!! Pavlova is on the menu this year - I can't wait to make it!!! Black Friday is always a blast - we get up at 3am and wait on long lines bundled up in our winter coats with steaming hot cups of coffee until the stores open! Funny thing is that I don't think I ever got any great deals or even came out with anything on Black Friday! It's the fun of being with friends & family (whoever will get up at 3am LOL) I will probably buy more on Cyber Monday haha - I have become an online shopper! Amazon is my shopping mall :) I'm so glad you are doing more bead embroidery - I am starting a cuff too! It will be my relaxation over the coming days. I have a gorgeous Lapis Cabochon waiting to be transformed! I'm stuck on picking a stone to compliment it. Any ideas from my Wonder Down Under? You are the embroidery queen :) Take care and be well my dear XXXOOOXXXOOO

Not so strange, my lovely to get up at 3am to go shopping as we here are just a little madder than you Northerns. Our Black Friday is our Boxing Day. The mad shoppers start lining up late on Christmas Day.....sleeping bags, fold up chairs e.t.c. And all throughout the night, they line up with money filled wallets and credit cards. The air is so electrified with just one thought... to get through those doors at 9am. Picture this, you are sitting on a bench by the seashore, you are having a quiet moment and are enjoying your lunch. You notice a circling seagull and continue to enjoy the quiet around you. Then one turns into a mass of screeching fighting seagulls which turn's the quiet into a huge bun fight all around you. Well, that's what it's like as the moments tick by and gets to the 9.am when the cave doors open up to '"Aladdin's Cave". But that's only the beginning for these frantic shopping creatures. After hours of research and running floor plans through their grey cells for days they push and shove their way through sections while devouring any item marked "special" and like a heat seeking missile find their main target. Some even have family waiting in line to pay so they can go ahead and gather as much as they can. There are 3 traditional events that happen on Boxing Day, the Test (Cricket) starts and the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race ...all attract numbers of fans but the biggy is "The Great Boxing Day Sales". For me well I don't involve myself in any, I just sit back and enjoy myself with starting my new book that I was given or marvel at the lovely money that I have been given and walk my little grey cells through Ebay and see what wonders I can buy. I hope that this year you are able to get your piece of Pavlova and I am so happy that there will be a little bit of Aussie among the traditional American food. In a way, it will be like I am there and I have brought it as my offering on this very special day. Can't wait to see your cuff and no doubt it will be another masterpiece. After I have finished this second novel, I will be working on mine. It was a hot day yesterday but now it's mild and with the rain gently falling it is perfect for beading......so serene and with the magpies sing in the background with their delightful songs......it's just perfect!!!!! I will be there on the great day, all be it in my thoughts so have a very Happy and Wonderful Thanksgiving my wonderful little polar bear......

Stephanie - my most profound apologies for "trolling" you for so long without making any comments! Your work, tutorials and explanations are just top notch!! Thank you so much for being such a patient "teacher"!!! :-) I've learned so much from you. This tutorial made bezel-beading something I could FINALLY do! But I have a question/suggestion - what is the process for bezeling other sizes? Should the bezels always be even-count peyote? What is the best way to determine the number of beads needed for other size stones? And the biggie, how do you bezel a stone with points, like a pear-shaped or a marquis? Thank you again for all your time, effort and expense in making these tutorials!!!
@The5thSphinx8 жыл бұрын
Oh, also - my compliments for your always perfectly groomed hands! Mr. DeMille, she is ready for her close-up! ;-)
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry8 жыл бұрын
Haha thanks!!! I'm thrilled to have you "trolling" me with or without comments (although I LOVE the interaction). To address your questions: Yes, the bezel should be even count for it to fit and look symmetrical. Bead count: There are some basic counts for certain size stones but because bead brands differ in size, I string on an even amount of beads that will fit around the outer edge of the stone. Bezeling a square, teardrop, triangle etc is a little more involved to get it to fit. I will be making a video on a triangle, square, and marquis stone coming up. Until then or if you need the process now, I'm going to suggest you look at Ann Benson's KZbin channel. I think she is the master bezeler LOL. I hope this helped and keep on watching

Hi Stephanie! I’ve been trying to do the bezeling and must be doing something wrong. I did the back then tried doing the front and it isn’t snug the back is and maybe that’s part of the problem. I’m going to try and do a third row of 15s on the front. I’m 😢stopping for now. Too frustrated. I’ve watched several of your bezeling sessions hoping for inspiration even though I’ve watched several already. It’s not as easy as you make it look or my stroke affected more of my brain than thought. 😕

I am so glad you mentioned the missing of the delica during this beading, I am trying to work on one of your other videos (earrings) and even though I am using the bead size recommended, I can’t get my 15 seed beads to contour the delicas making that nice closed circle to insert my 14mm stone. I pulling the thread so hard that it broke. Any recommendations? Thanks Stephanie

Hi, Enjoying many of your videos. Great teaching skills. I'm trying to size down the 18x13 to a 12mm fancy stone. Tried 29 delica beads and then size 15 charlottes--Think my problem with making the stone fit is either the count or the size of charlotte-or my lack of skills. Please advise.SGee
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry7 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandra and thanks! First and most important when bezeling around a stone in peyote you need use an even number of beads. Also, your initial bead count used around the stone will determine how well it will fit. In general string on a number of beads and wrap it around your stone. The beads should fit around the outside of the stone. Sometimes you have to adjust them to fit an even umber in. There is a little wiggle room here. Practice makes perfect with a peyote bezel or any bezel. I can bezel 10 stones and they come out great and number eleven just wont fit!!! Don't give up - keep trying because once you become proficient you will be bezeling everything you can get your hands on LOL

@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry8 жыл бұрын
Hi Nancy :) You can use any size rivoli and stone or just rivolis. How about the 18mm rivoli and the 14mm rivoli as an earring? Use the same bezel just adjust the bead count to fit around the stone. You could also bezel 2 of the 14x10mm stones and attach them. Not sure if it would make a heavy earring but you could give it a go. Or use just one stone for an earring like the Tivoli Rivoli earrings :) Just a few ideas for ya!!!

@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry7 жыл бұрын
Thank you😃 Yes, you can attach a clip on the back. You'll have to sew it on and maybe glue it first to the back of the rivoli. You could try a smaller stone that won't be too heavy or an oval rivoli (might be lighter). Hope this hrlos🌻

Love the earrings, as I do all of your work but I wear smaller things and wonder what the guidlines are for deciding how many beads to start with...do you need an even number? do you just fit around? I am not a designer by any means and don't know these things. Any info will be appreciated. Love you and your work.
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry8 жыл бұрын
Hi Jodi😃 Thanks for the nice comment! Use an even number to surround a stone with a peyote bezel. Make sure you check the fit on the outside rim of the stone before closing the initial circle. There are some guidelines for bezeling different stones but it can vary depending on the brand of beads you use. I will put a "how to" video on simple bezels after the holiday season🌻

medea taylor Hi medea😃 Thanks you! You can purchase the oval stone and rivolis on most bead websites. Fusion beads, Art Beads, Beadaholique and many others. The seeds also. Hope this helps🌻
