Keisha Michelle because I work, I started at 6pm and quit at midnight from Sunday til Sunday...ab 42 hrs. I wore my hair in a puff and started at the back. I retighten with a plastic needle I gor from Michael's. The look fantastic I'm still in love w/ them.
@kmd0725918 жыл бұрын
+mswattz thanks for responding! . Do you remember the brand of the needle or the type of needle it was at Michaels? I may try to start tomorrow. I'm sure it will take me a long time lol I get distracted to easily. Also was there a certain parting technique you used?
@mswattz8 жыл бұрын
K Dot I found them in the knitting section where the looms are. There's 2 in a pack for ab 4 bucks. They look just like sewing needles but much bigger and plastic. I wedged something through the eye to open it it. it works like a charm.

I found this video months ago when I became obsessed with sisterlocks and learned the high cost of installing them and maintenance. I have never been one for going to a salon and have always maintained my own hair relaxed and now over three years natural. I love how thorough this video is on the technique of interlocking 👏👏👏👏 thank you so much for sharing. I will be installing my microlocs using this technique

@holisticbrownbeauty11 жыл бұрын
Yes of course! :-) It will look different initially but when your hair starts to loc, the pattern of the two strand twist will eventually go away and you will just have beautiful locs. A lot of people who prefer not to sit down for a long period of time for an interlocking installation actually start with the method you've mentioned. Hope this helps.

Yours is the best and easiest interlocking video on YT by far. I use your method but I end with a different tool. I think fingers are most natural and cause no snags.This is wonderful and you rock!

aaaaahhhmazing job! this is the best interlocking installation video i'v found. I wore locs for six years (palm roll method). then i cut them after college and have fluctuated between minifros and the svelte close cut for about 5 years now. I've loved it all--love being natural. now I'm thinking of installing interlocks. I have two small children as well and can't afford sisterlocks, but I have the patience to do my own hair--it's like a ritual for me!! Thanx!

First: you are absolutely gorgeous. Second: I am about to start my loc journey this summer after being 4 years natural. I was going to start my locs through braids, because that seemed the most feasible for my active lifestyle. But this video has made me rethink everything... I LOVE this method, and it will be worth the time it takes to do it. Thank you, sis!

I follow you on Instagram (@riecyspieces), and your locs are one of the best examples I've found as a guide for the size I want mine to be. I just started from the bottom of your IG and went through your comments like a stalker (lol) until I saw you mention the method you used to start and maintain your locs. Kudos for doing them yourself under those circumstances!!! Thank you for making the video. I've heard the interlocking term for a while now, and your video was the most clearest explanation, visually and verbally, as far as a how-to guide. I'm strongly considering starting my loc journey with this method. Didn't mean to write a short story, but I appreciate you sharing with us! Thank you!
@holisticbrownbeauty11 жыл бұрын
No it shouldn't prevent your hair from locking. Your hair will loc up regardless of how your hair is parted. However if you are not satisfied with your parts now, you will not be happy with them when your locs mature. Its best to fix the problem now before its too late. And parting does play a major role in how your locs will turn out. If you have some parts that are bigger than others then it is a possibility that some locs will be thicker than others. It just depends. Hope this helps.

I did the four point rotation. I don't think it is possible to do a two point. Well it is possible but it will not come out right at all. Doing that will leave holes in your locs. You can do a three point rotation. From my understanding, the three point is for those who have a looser curl pattern. Hope that helps.

nice job! out of experience for the rotation, if you can get the 3 to 9 in and you only have a little room left close to the scalp, just take it down from 12 to 6 and that way your lock will hand down. It will be secure!

I already have locks that I started from comb twists but they are very small so I sometimes use a latch hook to tighten. I am considering installing micro locks on my mom whose hair is about 3 inches long and salt& pepper so the texture is much different. Would it not be faster maybe to have started initially using the tool and continue throughout? What's your opinion. I want to make sure they are very small so she can still curl & style. I'm tired of seeing her mask her natural with wigs.

It depends on the length of the hair and the size that you want your locs to be for example your parts. If the person is looking for locs that are my size, then it will take longer than a day especially if their hair is longer. Hope this helps.
