I am at the point where I am gaining a little more confidence in learning Chinese but sometimes that confidence is taken away when I can't figure out a word due to a typo. Case in point, at timestamp 0:48, the pinyin is incorrect, I think. It should be 'ni juede' and not 'ni jiao de' Am I correct in my observation?

A little late but it can be pronounced 'jiao' or 'jue' - such as 睡覺 shui4jiao4. It should be Juede in this situation so yes you are correct :)
