Nice tutorial. The red that you're seeing when increasing the exposure in camera raw isn't a visual glitch but rather a highlight clipping warning, you can turn it off if you wish by clicking on the icon in the upper right corner of the histogram.

The white spots which came when you used the highlight slider in camera raw is because you were losing details in your highlights. if it becomes blue it means you are losing details in your shadows.

Great tutorial :D When you increase the highlights and the red spots appear it is because you have 'Gamut Warning' on. You can disable this in 'View' - 'Gamut Warning'. You're welcome ^_^

Maybe I should explain why it shows the red color, too ^^ It is displaying the red color when the colors on your canvas gets out of your selected printer's color range!
