Carry on making me laugh or smile and I'll watch all of your videos. I looked at 3 or 4 tutorials before this one, and quit all of them, some after less than a minute, until I found yours. Very impressive video! I learned something I was trying to figure out in the first 5 minutes (I screwed up the pallets on the right and didn’t know how to restore them). I’ve saved this to my iPad to refer back to often. But, coming from Photoshop, years ago....absolutely REFUSING to pay THOUSAND dollars a year...CRAZYNESS and you own nothing. So Affinity has been a blessing as I was making thumbnails in Davinci Resolve and Power Director and Photo Director.... Excellent tutorial, easy to understand and follow my only complaint being , I wish the cursor was larger and a bright green or yellow to pick it out quicker. Cheers Mal.

Thanks for this! I've been trying to use Photopea because I don't want Photoshop, but it's very buggy and slow, so I'm doing the free trial for Affinity and I think I'm going to buy it. I'm having a heck of a time doing basic things though, like making and saving a color gradient fill layer to use as a custom vignette, so I really need this video.
@bydesignmethod5 ай бұрын
Hey, I tried Photopea as well (not too long ago) and I just couldn't get into it. Interesting idea, I've never tried saving a gradient fill for a vignette.. will have to poke around
@JustMeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee5 ай бұрын
@@bydesignmethod PLEASE do a video on this when you've had a chance to play around with it. This is one area where Photopea is worth the effort, at least until I figure out how to correctly do it in Affinity. lol

Super. Thanks. I am really going to look forward to using Affinity. It reminds me of the CorelDraw program that is used for years and really liked until they got all predatory with their pricing. and combining that wonderful program with photoshop but with a much less difficult learning curve. I'm really going to like this program. Thanks for a great tutorial, consider me subbed.

Thank you so much! I remember Corel Draw, great program. Affinity has constantly come through when it comes to the customer side so I'm always happy and hopeful to support them.

Excellent video, you explained so much my head is spinning. My question, I still don’t understand why it’s important to create a document and does each image need to have its own document? How do I determine the size of the document to use? I have been using Affinity V2 for a few years now and have never created a document. Thank you for the help you provided today, I will definitely be trying some things, especially masks.
@bydesignmethod4 ай бұрын
Hey Terry! Each image does not need it's own document. Sometimes you create a document to make something the perfect size (let's say for an instagram post, or a KZbin thumbnail - both different sizes and you want to make them fit perfectly) If you're working with a picture you don't need to determine a size really unless you wanted to get it printed in a standard or specific size (let's say 4x6 or something) Happy to answer any questions - I understand it's a lot of information. Thank you so much for watching, truly appreciated!
