Thank you for this. T2D, I was on Metformin, Glimepiride and insulin. Cut out red meat, then poultry, then fish, then eggs, and finally all vegan. Over this time I stopped Glimepiride and insulin. Was put on Trulicity but going vegan allowed me to drop that. Still on Metformin for now. Time restricted feeding works for me. On the days when I don't eat past 6pm and I have most of my calories for breakfast, my BG drops to 85 or less and stays there all night. If I do eat late (9-11pm, we have an odd schedule), it's closer to 100-105 overnight and into the morning. I wear a CGM so I can track this easily. I don't do any intermittent fasting. A1c dropped from >8 to 5. I'm just one person and this is just my experience but I'd encourage anyone with T2D or on the cusp to try it. Being WFPB I eat to satiety. Zero deprivation and I've lost a bunch of weight. If you cut out the oil and go easy on the nuts and avocados you can't help but get to a healthy weight. Eating all your calories in an 8-10 hour window and not eating past 6 or 7 pm can really improve bg, IMHO. Dr. Greger has videos on this. Go to his channel and search for 'circadian' and the data is there. We just aren't wired to eat after dark and the data backs this up. Blood sugars are more moderate for calories taken earlier in the day and less is stored. Again, no calorie restriction, I eat as I choose and when I eat earlier, my numbers are NORMAL. People want a magic pill and WFPB and TRE may very well be it. Thank you, Dr. Hashmi.

I've just started: missing breakfast and not eating after 8pm. I seem to be losing weight and haven't felt hungry at all. Surely it can't be this simple?

Dr. Hashmi, Do I understand correctly that the first group eat from 8=12 noon MWF and on all the other days eat "normally"?

I couldn't understand what the first group did. On 3 non-consecutive days they ate 80% of their normal caloric needs between 8am and noon? What did they eat on their off days? I would have to do 4am - 7am eating window because of my job. I sleep 8pm to 4am. Started WFPB no added oil because of fatty liver, slight liver enlargement, and blood sugar 110, morbid obesity. So this might be something good for me to try since it is only 3x/week.
