It may have taken a while, but well worth the wait. The Internal Cabin Woodwork begins this week with some challenges and some real wins.
Our KZbin build series is all about what it takes to build a Catamaran from scratch. There is so much detail in a build of this size and so many different techniques involved in bringing her to fruition. I trust you will find something that may help with your current or future project, repair or dream boat build. If you feel there is value, please let us know and comment so we can continue to produce content worth your valuable time.

Apologies that the video was 12hours late today, Janet and I have been out of reception in outback Australia for 10days and she dragged me up a mountain to find a bar of coverage to launch the video. Cheers Rossco

Ross while your working on the stainless it might be time to start thinking about the design of your trolling rod holders and clearances from the tender and a waist high suport so you can fight a fish without falling off. i always fish when sailing and its hard not being able to stop the boat sometimes , so a good standing area with support is important . Looking good.

Oh man, that galley is going to be sweet, very nice Ross! Actually, you took up a lot of my time yesterday worrying about you since you didn’t post!!! That is such a strange feeling, worrying about people you don’t even know personally, but I did. Glad you two got away to a very cool spot with the dolphins!! Yeah, and the back, awesome with all that bling!

Its been 7 years plus! I was subbed for a while, now I just check back ever so often. Will it ever be launched? I've watched wooden sail boat restorations that have been done and dusted in half the time.

Yes with hundreds of helpers they have been launched, I have worked full time and built a boat, not relied on volunteers to carry the Wright.

Tasi oak trim looks great. Pk will be happy to be so busy when the time comes. Teamwork bending the rear lounge deck pieces. It's the little attention to details that makes the difference. Like the idea of the seat mounted to a sliding bracket. More work but may make crossing the bench steering easier. Or more comfortable standing and steering.

Rocco, forget the shelves in your galley. You can't beat drawers. I have just done a kitchen and pantry with 65 drawers. They are much better than getting on your knees to search for something in the bottom of a cupboard. And remember we are not getting younger. The soft close is just the number.

Totally agree, drawers save the back bending and cursing in the back of dark cupboards.Rossco

Everything is really looking nice! Would it have been possible to have the seat raise and lower? It seems more important to ensure the shorter folks are able to see to avoid objects.

The secret to bending the tubing is "LEVERAGE". Using a long pipe (lever) fitting over the one you are bending will give you the strength of Superman to bend the pipe. You could wrap the pipe you are bending in tape if you were worried about marring the tube.

hey Ross sorry I hate to criticise from the sidelines (you're doing more than I've ever done), but putting my engineers hat on I think your framing is not going to support the right side of the seat very well over time. You'll be relying entirely on the stiffness of the welded joints between the verticals and the horizontal to stop those verticals from acting like two cantilevers. The seat is going to see some action and it's going to flex and ultimately fatigue the welds. But that said I'm not there and can't see the thickness of your material etc. and more meat solves a lot of problems so it could be as strong as our favorite proverbial and I'm sure your welder will have an opinion :)

Rossco... R you going to flo coat the bottom of the engine hatch
@LifeOnTheHulls
@LifeOnTheHulls 2 ай бұрын
Vernon, the underneath of the engine access hatch will have a 3 layered sound proofing adhered and Chestertman lounge style mounting to soundproof the cabin.I am yet to install this as I am dreading the overhead work and my ability to block every gap correctly to minimise noise and air flow into the cabin.Rossco

I think Im more happy you are getting done than you are, lol. Covid wont officially be gone until this boat is floating, lol. Covid would make a great name for this boat as thanks to the billions of us locked into our home for years we saw it get built, lol. Real carpenters usually have a basic "square and level" to work with, lol. You have no such luck which makes the carpentry skills you must display above average.
