Touted as Southeast Asia’s largest ever art fair, ART SG, kicked off its first edition in Singapore. The fair comes at a time when the city state is fast becoming the go-to place in Asia for global companies, family offices and high net-worth individuals. With that in mind, the global art market is looking at Singapore as a regional art hub to attract new collectors. The organisers say that ART SG is an attempt to leverage Singapore’s growing art collector base as well as to showcase Southeast Asian art to a global audience.
